Hyo Joo Kim has signed a five-year incentive deal with Lotte (her main sponsor) worth up to 1.3 billion won/year. The numbers are a bit confusing to my limited Korean skills, but as far as I understand it, she gets 70% of her earned money for LPGA wins matched by Lotte and 30% money matched for top fives on the LPGA going forward. She has additional incentives of up to 1 billion won for achieving the #1 world ranking, #1 spot on the LPGA money list or winning Majors (the article seems to suggest each accomplishment would be worth a cool billion to her). Her incentive package was 1.1 billion this year, and she apparently earned a good percentage of that total.

That's great. Wasn't her original Lotte endorsement something like $500k US over 2 years? What other sponsors?...other than Hazzy (apparel) and Yonex (clubs). It's interesting the Koreans have these Euro/UK high end boutique clothing sponsors.
Until I started golfing with some Koreans this year.....did not realize how much they love clothes, plastic surgery and Soju....lol.

Not sure, if, Asiana Air renewed as it was a 2 year deal back in Oct 2012. I still see their logo on the right sleeve: 121.78.129.108/www/news/biz/2014/09/124_123640.html

The Korean article breaks down her 2014 earnings as follows: 1.9 billion won - KLPGA & LPGA earnings 600 million won - Lotte sponsorship 1.1 billion won - Lotte bonuses/incentives 500 million won - other sponsors Total: 4.1 billion won. That's about $4 million! That might even beat what Inbee made this year.

Thx for the info guys.
That's a great financial year for HJK.
I think HJK is prime to sign up a pretty sweet OEM deal....so she can practice with them during the off season. Seriously.....Yonex clubs???.....the last time I saw Yonex on the links was back in the early 90's when they had a fairly popular driver....I think Phil use to play it......I'm assuming HJK's Yonex endorsement is not really attractive.

I thought, this was an interesting article as it compares how much Se Ri Pak signed for in 2002: english.chosun.com/site/data/html_dir/2014/12/03/2014120301141.htmlThe deal is short Pak Se-ri's five-year sponsorship with CJ in 2002, which gave her W2 billion each year and maximum of W15 billion for five years. But it does surpass Shin Ji-yai's five-year W5 billion deal, exclusive of bonus, signed with Mirae Asset in 2009.

Cool. That English language article broke down exactly how the bonuses for money title/#1 ranking/Major wins works in a way the Korean language one didn't.
