With so many big name players taking this week before the second major off our seventeen PakPickers scrambled to find players who could contend on the Seaview course. The six highest-ranked golfers in the field each got at least fifteen nods, with Brooke, Gerina and defending champion Anna sweeping the panel. The big disappointment in that group was Shanshan, who will be watching Sunday's action along with us mortals instead of participating.
Round one saw two contestants lead with five selections apiece. One of them is LPGA Ireland from the mylpga.com board, who I believe is making their season debut; they had the unique selections of Recari, Ewart-Shadoff and Meadow. The other is a player more used to the other end of the Standings, with two wooden spoons so far this year. He was one of three to throw caution to the wind and pick co-leader Ai.1. baggerbob 51.00 (5) 2. LPGA Ireland 46.50 (5) 3. centurion 41.75 (4) 4. IceCat 41.00 (4) 5. ghinhee 36.75 (3) 6. danielj 36.25 (3) 7. dennis 32.25 (3) -- olamin 32.25 (3) -- tonyj5 32.25 (3) 10. cannuck 32.00 (3)
11. canlinny 30.25 (3) 12. Schoolteacher Cindy 29.25 (3) 13. Saint-Just X 25.75 (2) 14. GD Smyth 24.50 (2) 15. tatkins 23.50 (2) 16. Golfing Grammy 22.00 (2) --- Verdant Garden 22.00 (2) Stacy exited the Table, but with NYC more than taking her place all but two scores increased. The quartet leading with five scoring selections apiece each had Choi, Nomura, Nordqvist and two from among the T8s. Dennis was more laser precise with his five so he took over the lead from baggerbob going into Sunday. Golfing Grammy, on the other hand, came up snake eyes and remains on the bottom.1. dennis 56.25 (5) 2. baggerbob 51.75 (5) 3. IceCat 51.25 (5) 4. Schoolteacher Cindy 50.75 (5) 5. centurion 43.00 (4) 6. canlinny 41.00 (4) 7. Saint-Just X 40.75 (3) 8. cannuck 40.00 (4) 9. danielj 37.25 (3) 10. tonyj5 35.75 (3)
11. Verdant Garden 34.75 (3) --- olamin 34.75 (3) 13. tatkins 33.25 (3) 14. ghinhee 32.75 (3) 15. LPGA Ireland 32.25 (3) 16. GD Smyth 31.25 (3) 17. Golfing Grammy 23.00 (2) Kevin

LPGA Ireland's return to PakPicker land was a roller coaster ride this week. Unfortunately it was all downhill. Everyone selected this week's repeat winner Anna and all but one of us picked NYC. When the dust settled Sunday those were LPGA Ireland's only two scoring selections so sadly the wooden spoon was unavoidable.
As for the other end of the Standings six contestants led with four scoring selections apiece. Common among all six was that they each had Anna, NYC and Haru. For half those six the fourth was from among the T6s: two were among the trio who chose Mika, whose final round 64 zoomed her into the Table, while baggerbob had the singular distinction of picking Annie Park, a name which in any other week is usually passed over without a thought. Baggerbob tied the Saint for the bonze medal this week.
We have a tie at the top as well as they were among the other three whose fourth selection was Christina Kim. I know, a win is a win is a win, but having to share top honors with dennis takes some of the shine off. Then again it's sort of like finding that perfect outfit at the local thrift store: if it looks and feels good on you it doesn't matter that it's second hand since only you know that fact. Then again I have no way of knowing how dennis feels about sharing a win with your humble scorer.1. dennis 40.00 (4) -- IceCat 40.00 (4) 3. baggerbob 39.00 (4) -- Saint-Just X 39.00 (4) 5. Schoolteacher Cindy 37.50 (4) 6. centurion 37.00 (4) 7. ghinhee 36.50 (3) 8. danielj 33.75 (3) 9. olamin 30.25 (3) -- tonyj5 30.25 (3)
11. canlinny 29.25 (3) 12. Golfing Grammy 28.75 (3) --- tatkins 28.75 (3) --- GD Smyth 28.75 (3) 15. Verdant Garden 27.25 (3) 16. cannuck 26.75 (3) 17. LPGA Ireland 17.00 (2) Kevin

The joisy guy ("The Benny") wins in joisey. No problem Kevin sharing the win with you. A win is a win, but tie is like taking your sister to your high school prom.
