Seventeen PakPickers participated in this week's contest. The only two unanimous selections, Brooke and Lydia, did not factor in the scoring but all the other golfers who got double digit nods did surface at least once over the course of the tournament.
Anemic scores to start the week, with only the Saint holding four scoring selections and your humble scorer stumbling out of the blocks. Neither scenario would last...1. Saint-Just X 39.75 (4) 2. cannuck 38.25 (3) 3. danielj 36.25 (3) -- Verdant Garden 36.25 (3) 5. ghinhee 35.25 (3) -- olamin 35.25 (3) 7. Golfing Grammy 33.25 (3) -- shung 35.25 (3) -- Schoolteacher Cindy 35.25 (3) 10. tonyj5 32.75 (3)
11. canlinny 31.25 (3) 12. dennis 30.75 (3) 13. tatkins 38.75 (3) 14. baggerbob 25.25 (3) 15. GD Smyth 27.00 (2) 16. centurion 24.00 (2) 17. IceCat 13.75 (1) Round two saw all but two scores go up thanks to a doubling of the number of popular selections from three to six. The Saint had a pretty dramatic fall when his unique selections of Pornanong and Cristie dropped out, with only baggerbob cushioning his descent. Five led with six selections apiece, the same six mentioned at the start of this paragraph.1. Schoolteacher Cindy 66.50 (6) 2. Golfing Grammy 66.00 (6) 3. GD Smyth 63.00 (6) -- tonyj5 63.00 (6) 5. canlinny 60.00 (6) 6. ghinhee 58.00 (5) 7. dennis 56.00 (5) -- olamin 56.00 (5) 9. tatkins 55.75 (5) 10. danielj 48.50 (5)
11. Verdant Garden 47.00 (5) 12. cannuck 41.75 (4) 13. shung 40.75 (4) 14. centurion 37.25 (4) 15. IceCat 31.50 (3) 16. Saint-Just X 23.75 (2) 17. baggerbob 19.25 (2) Everyone's scores went up on Saturday as eight golfers with double digit nods graced the Table and three PakPickers led with those eight. The Saint even got Phatlum and Kerr back but that wasn't enough to escape the bottom third of the Standings.1. tonyj5 84.25 (8) 2. Golfing Grammy 82.25 (8) 3. canlinny 80.75 (8) 4. olamin 74.75 (7) 5. tatkins 72.75 (7) 6. Schoolteacher Cindy 71.50 (7) -- danielj 71.50 (7) -- Verdant Garden 71.50 (7) 9. ghinhee 69.25 (7) 10. dennis 67.75 (7)
11. centurion 65.00 (6) 12. GD Smyth 64.75 (6) 13. cannuck 63.25 (6) 14. Saint-Just X 61.25 (6) 15. shung 50.00 (5) 16. IceCat 48.50 (4) 17. baggerbob 46.25 (5) I did something different this week: I brought the tally sheets to work with me and did the tabulations whenever I had some downtime between trips. It enabled me to keep current except for posting the intervals since I was kept out late and thus I still needed sleep. Using the calculator on my phone helped out as well since it kept all the entries displayed and I could double check without having to repeat.
Anyway, how did everyone do this week? Seven golfers with double digit selections were in the final Table and four of the top five in the Standings had seven scoring selections and three of the top four had those seven golfers. Accuracy points kept Golfing Grammy off the podium, and even though my seven included unique selections Anna and MJ (Nordqvist maybe but who knew Hur would have a good week?) but did NOT include Sei Young or Gerina so I wound up tied for fifth with my fellow scorer. Centurion did well to place as high as he did despite shunning last year's champion Minjee. All seven popular selections were on tonyj5 and canlinny's lists and even though the order varied they somehow added up to the same number of points and so both share top honors. To the surprise of no one the Saint collects yet another wooden spoon. With a similar number of mixing bowls he should now have enough to start a cooking class.1. canlinny 60.75 (7) -- tonyj5 60.75 (7) 3. centurion 60.50 (6) 4. Golfing Grammy 57.25 (7) 5. IceCat 56.50 (7) -- Verdant Garden 56.50 (6) 7. danielj 52.50 (6) 8. dennis 51.75 (6) -- shung 51.75 (6) 10. Schoolteacher Cindy 51.50 (6)
11. olamin 50.75 (6) 12. ghinhee 49.25 (6) 13. cannuck 48.75 (6) 14. tatkins 48.25 (6) 15. GD Smyth 43.00 (5) 16. baggerbob 39.25 (4) 17. Saint-Just X 30.50 (4) I get a mini break of sorts as my next turn is the 54 hole event near Atlantic City, which I'll have to forsake attending this year in favor of KCON in Newark next month. The Verdant one has this week's inaugural Volvik Championship so get your selections in on time!Kevin
