Kyu Jung Baek returned to Korea on the 25th and talked to the press about her experience playing at the CME, her first LPGA event outside of Korea. She finished tied for 36th. She said she really enjoyed it and is looking forward to playing on the LPGA tour in 2015 and challenging Hyo Joo and the others for Rookie of the Year. This is the first confirmation I've seen in the press that she intends to take her tour card and come over here in 2015. She says that So Yeon, Inbee and Mi Hyang Lee were very welcoming to her, but she was nervous. She found playing the CME tournament quite enjoyable, however, and looks forward to coming over full time. She especially valued Inbee's advice, which was to make sure that she enjoy herself on tour. She also was inspired when, on her first day, she attended the Rolex awards and saw Lydia get the Rookie award. She vowed she would be on that stage a year from now collecting that same award. It was a big inspiration to her. It is expected that her debut will come at the Coates Championship (unclear from the article if she said that or this is speculation by the writer). The article also does not say how many events she is planning on playing or if she wants to play part time on the KLPGA, but my reading of it suggests she is all in for the LPGA next year. Congratulations to Kyu Jung on her 2014 season, and good luck next year!
