So how much in appearance fees is NYC making? OK....is there anyone here that believes NYC is getting an appearance fee....why else would she be playing and she's flying to Kingsmill...Xi Yu lin too. |

Perhaps Beth Allen should have been given that sponsor's invite after all? Is this one going to be on Golf Channel? I'd be interested in seeing how NYC does and how she is treated by the local fans. I recall a few years ago when she won in Taiwan. She is HUGE there, but ended up in a tight battle with Theresa Lu, the homegirl. Still think it was a popular win for NYC despite that. |

Great pictures and comments philknj. I am starting to like Beth Allen, at least she wore shoes. She listens to a different drum.
Yes, of course NY Choi gets an appearance fee. Hopefully it is worth her while. If China likes her so much, maybe she can loot some old sugar daddy as well.

To answer your specific question, I don't how much money NYC is getting to show up. Didn't Tiger Woods get six-figure amounts to slum Asian events during his prime? NYC won't get paid anywhere near that much, but there is no doubt in my mind that she's getting an appearance fee and she's worth every penny. NYC has two birdies on her first six holes and leads by three shots over Florentyna Parker and SS Feng. GC will carry rounds three and four on Sat. & Sun. at 4:30 PM EST |

Na Yeon was in Korea prior to this event so it's not a long way out of her way to attend this one. Then how do you explain Lexi playing in Japan last week?....it's likely a 20+ hr trip with layovers from her home in FLA......I've gotta believe Lexi got an appearance fee.....long way to go if she was trunk slammin. |

I guarantee you that, when an Asian star like NYC plays in a non-LPGA Asian event, she's getting an appearance fee or a sponsor incentive. I totally believe the Mission Hills event was giving up the filthy lucre to Inbee, Pettersen and Ryu the past few years; when they stopped, hey, look at that, they didn't show up this year! Even though So Yeon was the defending champ.
They are big enough names in Asia that it's worth it for the sponsors to pay.
