This will take place in Shanghai during the LPGA’s off-week of May 12-15. Clockwise from top: Charley Hull, Yuting Shi, Xi Yu Lin, SS Feng, and Mel Reid. They’ll have to re-do that poster for one more player. I hadn’t looked at the CLPGA website in a while...apparently they’re having dizzy spells over the news that Na Yeon Choi was invited. On April 18, they posted a long article with a dozen pix regarding NYC: www.clpga.com/index.php/Home/Index/newsDetail/news_id/4862/I pushed it through Bing translator…a few snippets: Fans ready for it? Heavy heavy! Goddess of golf popularity in the field of Choi na Yeon is coming to Shanghai!
You heard that right! True, our "little one" is coming! She had confirmed that they would play in Garden of Shanghai qizhong Golf Club May 2016 Buick Championship. Golf fans gathering time has come! In Shanghai! May 12-15th.
"Little one" Choi na Yeon at the County Court of first appearance dates back to a decade ago. At that time, played only 19 years old, Choi na Yeon-China ladies open national championship, was runner-up. Since then, Choi na Yeon with superb skill and pure and graceful appearance won the Chinese media and fan attention.
Petite Choi na Yeon fine facial features and slender, bearing with a natural modesty, really pretty Oriental people love. Of course, she can stand on women's golf, not only because of high face value. At the age of 10, she saw Annika Sorenstam to win the United States women's open golf tournament after the motivation, started practicing Golf, and quickly became the Korea outstanding amateur golfer. 17 years old, she participated as amateur tournament of ADT Security (women's Korean Tour event), eventually leading to Idol 4 Rod beat Annika Sorenstam won the Championship, in Korea overnight. Later, she quickly turned professional player and won several lucrative sponsorship.
********** Yuting Shi took another step forward in March to be the next breakout player from China. She picked up her first pro victory at the Zhuhai Hengqin Phoenix Tree Building Challenge in southern Guangdong province and picked up the first prize of RMB 75,000 (pre-tax). That’s a cool $11,554.19! I also learned her nickname is Ting Ting.

On the LET website...I don't see Charley entered in this event....Hull is also playing the Yokohama while the others are not. I'm surprised NYC is playing....as I've always said...there are MANY NYC fanboys...I'm surprised cause she's so vanilla.

Heh heh, I love that google translation of the article about NYC. She has "high face value". I'm going to have to use that phrase from now on... About three or four years ago, I saw a South Korean film at the Seattle Film Festival. I wish I remember the name of it, it was about a weird high school in Korea. The star of the film was a DEAD RINGER for Na Yeon Choi. It was so uncanny I thought It might actually be her for a while. So yeah, it's easy to see why she has the fame she has over there. She really hits the sweet spot for what Asian crowds find attractive.

Na Yeon only a shot back after rnd 1, nice start.
Do you think there's more pressure on a player like NYC to perform turning up in field like this? Shanshan is the only player ranked above her (and I'm pretty sure Shanshan didn't get to P for 'Pressure' in her Engrish Dictionary..) and Mel Reid is next in line just inside the Top 100 at 97. Na Yeon should do well but it is golf..
I missed Xi Yu Lin, well above Mel Reid, apologies!

Beth Allen is only 1 stroke back. She can get into a Chinese tournament but Carlsbad is a no go.

That nutball Shanshan with the watermelon purse.....I think a drumstick is more suited to her personality though.

This is shaping up to be the tournament of the year. Choi more than any player except Park, belongs at the Olympics.
