A field of 108 tees it up Friday. A few big names (Teresa Lu, Ayaka Matsumori, Sun Ju Ahn among them) will skip this one, as the Salonpas Cup "major" is next week. SBS Golf will carry the Saturday and Sunday rounds at 5 PM (Korea time). In addition, there will be extended online streaming for each round. It's not clear on the exact times. The JLPGA website says 8AM to 4PM each day, while the tournament website says it starts at 7:30 AM (Japan times). The translated info says you must download the AbemaTV app (no registration or fee required), which can be watched on your PC or smart phone. There's a black button called AbemaTV, but when I hit it nothing happens. I will review this again closer to the tournament. They had a Kumamoto fundraiser in Tokyo on Monday. L to R: Miho Koga, Momoko Ueda, Ritsuko Ryu, and Chie Arimura

At 38, she's the fourth oldest first-time winner on this tour. It's also the first time that sisters have won on this tour. Ex-LPGAer Akiko Fukushima(MC, 76-73) was there. Low am Suzuka Yamaguchi(+3) Bo Mee Lee, Rumi Yoshiba(+3), and Ai Suzuki Sky was honored before the final round for making an ace on Saturday. Nearby Mt. Fuji...a gondola?

Tough loss for Ha Neul... Fukushima squandered a three shot lead coming in, Ha Neul gets into a playoff, then hands Fukushima the win by missing a short par save. Rule #1: if you're going against an underdog in a playoff, make them earn the win with a birdie!!!
Ah well, good week for her and Bo Mee Lee nonetheless...
