There is precedent for what you're suggesting, improbable as it sounds: when Melbourne hosted the 1956 Olympics, Australia's strict animal quarantine laws and the country's remoteness at the dawn of the jet age obliged the organizers to hold the equestrian events in Stockholm, Sweden.

Bo Mee needs to win USWO and So Yeon needs a solo second to make the team. Sung Hyun has no chances unless one or two qualifiers withdraw.

The two Korean men who'll be going to Rio are Byeong Hun An (#31) and Jeunghun Wang (#76). K.T. Kim is ranked higher than Wang (#41) but for whatever reason is passing on Olympus.

The Olympic team has been decided!
7/11/16: After the US Women's Open. In Gee Chun missed the cut in her title defense but still squeaked into the Olympics in the fourth spot. Inbee has said she is intending to play. Amy Yang was top finisher at the Open, tied for third, and moved ahead of In Gee. So Yeon finished t-11th, not good enough to jump onto the team.
Congrats to Inbee Park, Sei Young Kim, Amy Yang and In Gee Chun, and good luck in Rio!
3. Inbee Park 7.91 (same) 5. Sei Young Kim 6.85 (same) 6. Amy Yang 6.18 (+3 spots) 8. In Gee Chun 5.96 (-2 spots)
Just missing the team: 10. Ha Na Jang 5.45 (same) 12. So Yeon Ryu 5.18 (-1 spot) 16. Sung Hyun Park 4.39 (+2 spots) 17. Bo Mee Lee 4.37 (-3 spots) 19. Hyo Joo Kim 3.81 (same) 23. Na Yeon Choi 3.35 (-3 spots) 25. Jiyai Shin 3.14 (-2 spots)

Went to go practice last night with a friend. He thinks a lot of the guys are bailing on the Olympics because of the drug testing. Maybe some juice that the PGA tour allows but not the Olympics. And I think ....maybe......Eldrick is maybe off on a drug suspension too. But I think Eldrick's back is just too fried....he had no speed when he dunked 3 balls in the water about 2 months ago....he's TOAST.

I am not too disappointed about So Yeon not making the Olympic team. Probably won't get to see much of the Lady golfers until the final round anyway. I really wanted her to be on the International Team. Even though she made it because Ha Na dropped out. I just think she deserved to be on it.

fourwaymiss posted another article on WRX. The Israel OC doesn't know much about golf...so Beck designed her own uniform, bag, hat, etc and was told to expense it back to the Israel OC....lol. If Israel sends their own security to Rio .....you know Beck won't be robbed, raped or murdered.

Yeah I don't think Beck has much to worry about.

This is as good a place to ask as any:
What happens if Inbee Park is not able to play? Will the Koreans be able to replace her with another player? Or is it too late?

The IGF maintains a reserve list to cover for withdrawals due to injury. Of course the first alternate for the Koreans would be Ha Na Jang. They have until 16 August, the day before the competition, to make such changes.Kevin

With 2 weeks to go....do we think Winbee will pull the plug? Is Ha Na calling Winbee daily and pleading with her not to WD?
So what will be Ha Na's excuse be not to participate....fatigue would be a lame excuse that she's over used.
I wonder if Ha Na or SYR have been fitted with the Zika repellent Korean uniforms as alternates.
Tina must have demanded too much on expenses to have NZ pull Bristow's name from participation.
