The round three yardage list says the par-4 15th was moved up to 280 yards. I re-watched Paphangkorn's LPGA highlight reel from Round Three ... she carried her drive about 270 to the top shelf of that green, which then scooted past the flag to the back rough ... downhill chip and a putt for birdie. That was way more impressive than some unknown's 300+ drive with tons of rollout into a 6-lane fairway.

Freaks for HoJo ... are they locals or did they travel?

I didn't get to see the Broadcast, however great to see Hye Jin Choi in the Final Group. Hyo Joo Kim is not out of it either. I guess this is going to be how the LPGA course setups are going to be make lots of birdies or be left behind.
Jin Young Ko driving average was two fifty-nine, but still hit only nine greens with twenty-four putts.

Round 3 Tavatanakit made an eagle and moved to a four shot lead halfway through the round. Although she didn't increase her lead after that, it feels like this one is over. (although, who knows? It's different winning in front of your home crowd, and she is going to have a bad round sooner or later. It's been like 7 straight great rounds. But again, I strongly expect this to be a snoozer tomorrow). So the question now is: can a Sister put together a good result? We have some candidates. A few weeks ago I was thinking about who might step up this season and two names came to me: Sei Young Kim and Hye Jin Choi. With Sei Young, we are seeing her play better but also the factors that have inhibited her lately. Basically, when she gets into the hunt, instead of playing the all out aggressive golf she used to, she seems to be trying to avoid screwing up. That leads to mistakes IMO. I'd like to see her just throw the gauntlet down tomorrow and play as aggressively as she can. https://www.instagram.com/p/C3uXzo5vt3v By the way, if I have to hear the commentator say one more time that PT is longer than Sei Young... It felt like she mentioned that every. fricking. shot. We get it, please move on! As for Hye Jin, she has always had a Tiger ready to unleash but has struggled to make it happen. She had a great round today, but it's hard to follow that up. I hope she can, if only to get her confidence level up to where it needs to be. Thitikul not being in the field is a great chance for her to sneak in and steal some glory; Thitikul seems to have Hye Jin's number, and PT is no Thitikul. Given the terrible final rounds the Sisters have produced lately, I suspect it's unlikely, but I'd love to be surprised. I just hope they won't mention how PT and Sagstrom (Hye Jin's playing partners Sunday) are outdriving Choi every. fricking. shot. Hyo Joo is silently lurking 4 shots back. She's had three solid rounds so I suspect she'll have a fourth. But why not make a few more putts? She's one of the best with a flat stick. Amy and Jin Young are way back, but Amy had a 67 on Saturday and might walk off with a decent result. Every bit will help her get to Paris. Jin Young is just not hitting it straight enough. It's a miracle she shot a 70 with her crappy stats Saturday. At least her driving distance was better on Saturday, but she needs to hit these huge greens better than 50%. I'm hoping on Sunday for at least 16 greens and a 66 and a sneaky top ten; that would set her up nicely for her title defense. With her great short game this week, if she can just clean the long game up she could have an a-mah-zing season. Hwaiting!

I didn't see the third round Broadcast but on the second round. She looked like some of the golfers on the driving range when her finish was all over the place. Which causes her to hit shots to the right. Her putting was solid on the front nine, but she came up and out of some on the back nine. She has a solid game when her body isn't all over the place.

Hae Ran is on fire: six birdies in her first 8 holes -- and the only holes she didn't birdie were the two par 5s. She's moved up to 14 under, which would be great if PT would stop making birdies on every fricking hole.
Well, I already fully expect she's going to win, and the more Koreans who have a shot at this one, the more certain it is she will win.
Jin Young also 10/10 GIR and 4 under for the day. That's more like it!
Sisters Hwaiting!!!

Patty T. is the best player on Tour. It's a shame she has to lower herself and play in a sewer like Houston.

Hyo Joo is as steady as ever. Sei Young keeps taking one step forward then one step back. And they even showed Hye-Jin on the telecast a few minutes ago! Along with beautiful Lilia Vu! Both could be competitive for 2nd place but Patty T is like a force of nature right now... That's what I wrote yesterday. Patty T was like a force of nature until Valenzuela caught her by going minus-9 on Sunday. Can Patty pull it off on 18, or will there be a playoff? Sisters representing well with Sei Young, Hyo Joo, Hye-Jin, and Hae Ran all finishing in the top ten, along with beautiful Lilia Vu...

Just woke up in UK. That was closer than I expected. Patty T needed that birdie on 18 to win. Some good final rounds from the sisters.

Kudos to the Korean golfers to get three top five and a top ten.
Sei Young Kim played more like her formal self with a Final Round minus seven. A shout out to Hye Jin Choi, for rebounding with six birdies and an eagle after bogey double on hole two and three. Hae Ran Ryu had a great front nine with six birdies, cooled on the back nine with two bogeys, birdie and eagle. Still the minus seven gave her a top ten. Not a lot of fireworks from Hyo Jo Kim but minus five gave her a nice top five. Kudos to Mi Hyang Lee for a final round of minus seven.
My hat off to a lot of the talented lady golfers. With the easy course setup, they knew they needed to make a lot of birdies. So they went out and made birdies and eagles to move up the Leaderboard.

I'm glad I stayed up to watch through the finish in what turned out to be a close and exciting finish. Albane shot the round of her career forcing Patty T. to birdie 18 to win outright. Which she did with panache.
If not for that cursed 3rd hole, Hye Jin Choi would have been part of the winning conversation. Good result nonetheless.
