Starts Friday at Sapporo International CC for a field of 108 ... top-50 plus ties make the cut. No need for ice bags as the forecast is high 70s to low 80s F during the weekend.
I hadn't noticed until now that the AIG WO website is still showing the 2022 field.  Fortunately, the LET website has 2023 data, including JLPGA regulars Miyuu Yamashita, Team Iwai, Lala Anai, Yuri Yoshida and Ayako Kimura (plus am Baba-chan). The Shinster is also playing as a past champion under the age of 60. There are 22 TBC spots.
Back to this tourney, nothing special about it aside from Erika Hara coming off the disabled list.

Erika Hara held court on her return to the tour following hip/back surgery and rehab.
For now, she is going to back prototype irons given to her when she signed up with Mizuno in 2018 ... "in search of a slightly more body-friendly feel and swing."

Kotone Hori didn't have a good round but at least she plays on the weekend.

I tuned in with Ai Suzuki starting at #14 with a three-shot lead ... long overdue for a win, I knew she wouldn't screw it up (and she did not), so I went back to bed. I was still annoyed that Human had botched it on the KLPGA (waiting for a replay to see what happened as I dozed through that part).
