This looked like a much better tournament a few weeks ago when Pano and Shepherd were on the invite list, but they chose to skip this one...at least Lucy Li is there. I might go to this on Friday when they have the Final and Runner-up matches...never been to this course before.
It's all match play similar to what the PGA tour does...32 boys and 32 girls with each group broken into eight four-player divisions...win your division and you advance to the knockout rounds starting Thursday.
The online leaderboard is cumbersome to navigate...it appears that Lucy Li whupped azz today, 5&4 over Grace Ni and 7&6 over Catherine Park. However, she didn't clinch her division because her Wednesday opponent, Camille Boyd, also beat Ni and Park on Tuesday. Li is #4 on WAGR and Boyd (from Shanghai China) is #1045.
I think this is Boyd's IG, which is private, but it says UW Golf ‘24...I assume that's U of Washington.
She also has this site with some interesting pics...another Muni?

Round Three has started and Li is 4-up thru 9 holes against Boyd...ice cream cones for everyone!
In another division, NJ's Megha Ganne won both her Tuesday matches, but is up against an older opponent, Rachel Kuehn, who is also undefeated. Kuehn is 2-up thru 3 holes. I think they set this up so that the top-two ranked players in each division would not meet until Wednesday.

It's kind of unfair having the professional competing against the amateurs... Maybe her Apple Watch gives her an unfair advantage?

Looks like Luci Li is out for blood after being dropped one spot to #5 on WAGR yesterday...beat Therese Warner (WAGR #1515) in 19 holes and Rachel Kuehn (#588) 3 & 1 in Thursday's knockout rounds. Big upsets in the other bracket as defending champ Rachel Heck (#13) got squashed 7 & 6 by Brianna Navarrosa (#247), and then Navarrosa lost in 19 holes to Savannah Grewal (#1204) of Canada. I wonder if Karen Crouse of the NYT will show up to cover tomorrow morning's massacre.
I don't know any of the guys who played on Thursday. I remember Karl Vilips and Canon Claycomb last year at Echo Lake CC, but both failed to get our of their divisions. The finals will Maxwell Moldovan (Uniontown, OH) vs. Taehoon Song (ROK/Buena Park, CA).

I was awake early enough to attend this, but chose not to go...not enough players and matches to make it worth the hassle of getting there. I will plan ahead better for next year if it's at the same place.
As expected, Lucy Li took out Grewal, 5 & 3. On the boys side, Moldovan over Song, 3 & 2. WAGR points won't be awarded for this event...maybe because it's match play?
I haven't found any pics from today's action yet, but they'll probably be loaded here later:

Still no hints on Lucy's attire that she favors any particular college program...if that is her path...2020 is her HS graduating class...I think she is home schooled.

From her attire, it looks like she's gotten an early acceptance from the University of Nike.

Boooo!
I'm not going to forget how she got away with that massive cheat thanks to the cowardice of the American amateur golf power structure. From the looks of her outfit, she's busy advertising herself for her next potential (actual?) sponsors.
