I was curious about the best scoring averages on the KLPGA the past twenty years. Below, I list everyone who scored under 70.5 for the year, as well as the top scorer each year regardless if they broke 70.5 or not (if not, it's in parentheses).
You'll notice a few things. First, most of the seasons, there wasn't anyone who was under 70.5 scoring average, and some years, no one even under 71!
Second, this year we had twice as many players scoring under 70.5 than any other season. Any of those players would have won the Korean scoring title in most seasons.
Third, there have been only four sub-70 scoring averages in KLPGA history, and Lucky Six has two of them. That bodes VERY well for her future on the LPGA. The lowest of all time was achieved by Sung Hyun Park in 2016: 69.64. The only sub-70 average before 2016 was Jiyai Shin in 2006 (although she came close in 2007).
Fourth, before 2006, it becomes much harder to compare the averages to modern ones, because the KLPGA seasons were so much shorter. It seems more likely a player could get lucky and get a low average if they only play 7 events versus 24. The seasons varied between 5 - 15 events most of the time pre-2006.
