**********
All eyes are on the bottom feeders trying to break into the top-50 on the tour money list, which will get you a guaranteed free ride at the start of the 2019 season. Money rankings:
46 Megumi Kido 47 Kotono Kozuma (one win in 2018) 48 Satsuki Oshiro 49 Saiki Fujita
50 Shiho Oyama (one win in 2018) ********************
51 Ritsuko Ryu 52 Yuki Ichinose 53 Nasa Hataoka (I think she's safe) 54 Ayano Yasuda 55 Ayaka Watanabe
57 Erina Hara
61 Hae Rym Kim (Her one year exemption following her 2017 win is expired, I think)
65 Mio Kotaki (finished T-3 and T-4 in her last two events...is it too late?)
67 Pei-Ying Tsai
70 O Sattaya
73 Sakura Yokomine (she couldn't care less)
76 Eimi Koga (played well, but not enough events)
81 Momoka Miura (early season fire is completely doused...already in q-school)
84 Bo Mee Lee (Is q-school required even with 21 wins?)
89 Ayaka Matsumori (already in q-school)
113 Kotone Hori (q-school for sure)

I think a translated article says that players who finish 51 thru 55 on the money list at year-end get regular tour status at the start of 2019, bur are subject to re-ranking at mid-season.
Erina Hara (ranked 57) switched to the claw grip in the middle of Round One last week, but still missed the cut.
She also turned 31 last week.

I hope Ritsuko and Ayaka maintain their position on the Money List or get higher. I know about Ayaka Watanabe slump, but didn't notice that Ritsuko was also slipping. I think that Ritsuko was five or six on the Money List last year. Or maybe it was year before last. In any case I am surprised that she is that low.

Mamiko Higa is tied for first at -4 thru nine holes...she's not ready to concede the POY award to Shin or Ahn.
Bo Mee Lee and JY Shin
Minami Katsu and Shiho Oyama
Yumiko Yoshida and O Sattaya
I have no idea who this is...can't figure out that cap either...is it 'arch lvlol'? WTH

A dress-up gathering of the tour's best earlier this week. That's Yui Kawamoto at 1:53 & 3:13. I don't know what Kobayashi is saying at 2:34, but I would not argue with her.

A lot of red numbers in the early going of Round Two.
Hae Rym Kim and Ritsuko Ryu are making hard charges to the top-50 money list
Karen Gondo is currently T-2...no career wins, but that may change soon. She cut 1.5 strokes off her scoring average from 2017 to 2018.

Go low or go home...the top-57 made the cut at -2. Ritsuko Ryu (MC by one shot) gagged at #18 with a bogey and will have to sweat out the weekend seeing how far she'll drop on the money list...ditto for Saiki Fujita (MC). Fumika Kawagishi (MC), a winner in 2017, began #58 on the money list and opened with four doubles on her first five holes.
RANK PLAYER SCORE TODAY 1R 2R 3R 4R TOTAL 1 Chie Arimura -12 -5 65 67 132 2T Teresa Lu -11 -9 70 63 133 2T @nanako Ueno -11 -8 69 64 133 4T Rei Matsuda -9 -7 70 65 135 4T Ha-Neul Kim -9 -8 71 64 135 6 Hae-Rym Kim -8 -5 69 67 136 7T Mao Nozawa -7 -4 69 68 137 7T Karis Davidson -7 -1 66 71 137 7T Chae-Young Yoon -7 -7 72 65 137 7T Hina Arakaki -7 -4 69 68 137 7T Karen Gondo -7 -1 66 71 137
Ayaka Watanabe (-4) thinks she needs at least a T-17 finish to hit the top-50 on the money list
Kotone Hori (MC) blamed her collapse on off-season training to make her body bigger, which threw off her balance and made her "late" on the ball.
Kana Nagai and Minami Katsu, both -5
Chie Arimura
Bo Mee Lee (-2) and Ji Hee Lee (-5)
Sky Kim
Megumi Shimokawa and Erina Hara both dropped the ball and need to plan for q-school

Bummer, Ritsuko missing a critical cut. Kumiko Kanada one place on the money list behind Ayaka also shot minus four.
Natsuka Hori held on to her last place with a plus eight second round. She didn't let anyone take it away.
