Thanks goodness this season is over! I have been ready for this since Japan. Onward to 2019. Sisters always Hwaiting! There may not be as many tournaments played by the Koreans in the future. The established players are playing less, and there aren't many new Korean players joining the LPGA. Their preference appears to be the JLPGA, instead of the LPGA. So unless the established players improve their game there are going to be less wins. Because a lot of young talented U.S players are joining the Tour. Where as that's not the case of the young Korean players joining. The recent Korean players to join was because they won LPGA tournaments. Not as many going through Q-School or the Symetra Tour.

SoYeonFanI bet Lucky 6 will join LPGA; so is Hye Jin Choi. The best of the best has always come to LPGA, including Jiyai Shin. Not many KLPGA players came to LPGA through Q-School or Symetra Tour; nothing new there. As far as JLPGA, I doubt Bo Mee Lee, Ha Neul Kim, Hae Rym Kim, Chae Young Yoon or Min Young Lee would've made that big a difference had they joined LPGA.

With CME doubling its purse to $5.0 million; LPGA likely will enter a period of purse escalation.
The disparity between LPGA and JLPGA/KLPGA will be significantly amplified.

So Yeon Ryu's career earnings topped $10 million with her finish here.
I am curious to see how Inbee will schedule her 2019 season. I would think she would like to get win #20 under her belt.

Inbee has said she wants to try to defend her gold medal in Tokyo. If she even wants to be on the team, she is going to need to play more over here in 2019 and 2020.
I think Seon Woo Bae is a loss for the LPGA Koreans. She could have been another solid Korean star over here who will waste her time … uh, I mean play in Japan next season (if, as seems likely, she qualifies).

I missed that shame on me. So focused on her making top ten in Scoring Average. I will never miss another milestone that she achieves.

I put myself in her shoes and it would be a tough choice. With the culture difference and being so far away from home. Also she would have to learn a completely different language.

This is what I don't understand, why Koreans go to Japan but few if any Japanese come to Korea. . .There is a language difference there also maybe even a cultural difference. . .is it the money?. . .The big bucks will be with the LPGA and playing just 20-25 events means you have half the year off. . .The other thing that puzzles me is why so many on the LPGA that live overseas commute weekly to the event and then back home. . .that's a lot of travel . . .

awhsonJLPGA purse is 20-25% higher than KLPGA, but that's not a good enough reason to move. JLPGA isn't as competitive or cut throat as KLPGA. Both Sun Ju Ahn and Jiyai Shin are over 30 but they stay atop of the money list. KLPGA, on the other hand, are for younger players only. Chae Young Yoon, also over 30, finished No. 17; much better than when she played KLPGA 2-3 years ago. KLPGA is tough. They keep losing top players to LPGA, but new superstars come along and replace them immediately.
