After taking her lumps in Korea, Teresa Lu returns to Japan to defend her title starting Friday, Oct. 12. Ai Suzuki is healthy enough to tee it up...as of now. I guess Soo Yun Kang will begin the Japanese leg of her retirement tour here, as her name is also in the field. There's a lot of TV for this one, but Saturday and Sunday only.
Regular broadcast on TV Asahi (Japan time):
Round Two, Sat. 2:30 PM Round Three, Sun. 4:00 PM
*********
They'll have some LIVE coverage at 8 AM thru 1 PM (Japan time) and other miscellaneous coverage...check Youtube using this:

Wed. and Thu. prep:
Shoko Sasaki and Chae Young Yoon
Serena Aoki and Erina Hara
Kotono Kozuma and Haruka Morita
Big Mama Ahn and Sakura Koiwai
Although she won the 2018 Cat Ladies, Momoko Osato had many poor weeks before and after that. She planned to test new sticks at season end, but moved up her timetable to this week and switched to the latest Bridgestone Tour B XD-3 driver and Bridgestone Tour B X-CB irons.

Maybe SY Kang's retirement kicked in everywhere...she didn't play after being in the field list earlier in the week. She's still on the field list for next week's Nobuta Masters.

Kotone Hori has some catching up to do at plus three. Not sure what's the cutoff on the tour to retain your card, she is 111 on the money list. Haven't seen her sister Natsuka name on leaderboards lately. She is 156 on the money list.

The top-50 on the money list get a full ride for the following season's schedule. But, they obviously have a priority list like the LPGA. I recall Akane Iijima saying she would not go to q-school after finishing 54th on the money list in 2017. That didn't prevent her from getting her 28th start this week. Her problem is that she is a bit washed up...just 11 checks cashed this season. Both Horis will definitely have to go to q-school, barring a miracle finish somewhere, to improve their status.
Only 55 minutes for tonight's TV Asahi broadcast. It'll be the usual 85 minutes for Round Three.
Early Round Two (Ayaka Matsumori dropped out with left thumb pain):
Queen Shiho, Ah Reum Hwang and Momoko Osato
Asuka Kashiwabara and Ai Suzuki

The broadcast showed replays of past disasters at that diabolical bunker on the front/left of the 18th green...Teresa Lu made bogey at this par-4.
A Kana Nagai win will be worth a 3 AM wake-up call...displays a weird ribbon thing on the back with Min Young Lee
"A famous visitor from The East...the all-omniscient, all-seeing, all-knowing, all-telling, famous seer, sage, soothsayer...Kana the Magnificent"
Weiwei Zhang (MC) and Karis Davidson (-1)
Yuki Ichinose and JY Shin (-2)
Kotone Hori (MC) and Sun Ju Ahn
Eight Head made the cut line at +1

Watch it Weiwei, you're flirting with loss of avatar.
Then again, my avatar is apparently the kiss of death (Kelly Tan, Xiang Sui...) although Solar Lee seems to have turned things around.

Goodbye Kotone we hardly knew you. Unless she improves her game before Q-School.
I will miss her if she doesn't, until she comes back to the tour.

That broadcast had so many commercials...I'd fall asleep and then my cell phone would wake me up every five minutes and I still missed who won...here's the last round without commercials:
