Holy moly, they have 340 entries...it's gonna be Washout Central in the desert next week. A few prominent amateurs might make some noise, including Yujeong Son, Suzuka Yamaguchi, Maddie Szeryk, Jaclyn Lee, and Robyn Choi.

philknj This's isn't going to be easy; only top 69 and ties will advance to Stage II. Xiang Sui is doing the right thing; why waste time, money and heart!

If Doris Chen makes it to the LPGA next year it will have to be via Q-School. She is hardly making any cuts on the Symetra Tour.

It's over and the big winner, as usual, was the LPGA: 340 * $2,500 = $850,000
Congrats to 101 players who will advance to Stage Two. The five amateurs I plugged in the first post all made it, although it's not much of a boast against this field.
Anyone who completed 54 holes will get Symetra Tour status in 2019.
Notable eliminations:
Carly Booth - excellent athleticism, nice to look at, but she is Galloway pro-am material only
Victoria Morgan - sorry to see this, the ex-Trojans usually bring some nice visuals to the golf course
Kyle Roig - still banging her head against the door, I saw her as a junior at Trump/Bedminster nine years ago

I'm pulling for Gigi Stoll. The LPGA needs a player named Gigi.

Way to go Yujeong Son! I'm really interested in seeing her get to the big leagues, although I'm not sure she's quite ready yet. We'll see I guess. From the LPGA website: Yujeong and one of her trophies:

HappyFanBoth Yujeong Son and Yealimi Noh are 17. Yealimi was born on July 26; she won't turn 18 when 2019 LPGA season starts in January. Yujeong is a few months older; but may not be able to join LPGA in 2019. My guess is she'll do a Nelly Korda by finishing Stage II and plays Symetra Tour in 2019.

The winner's interview:
With the palm tree in the background, I assume this pic of Suzuka Yamaguchi (A) was taken at Q-school. Good news for Yonex...they need a bigger presence on the LPGA tour...I think HoJo Kim is the only one they got (and Yonex is a minor logo on Kim's attire and bag).

All Yonex needs to do to have a presence on the LPGA is to let Miso Lim do the talking. . . https://www.instagram.com/p/BiyHR10hN4Q
