Was it just me or did the broadcasters focus mainly on the chances of England being able to catch Korea to win the crown? They didn't focus so much on the US' chances and they definitely didn't comment on the race for second place; which turned out to be a tie between England and the US. It may be the late night talking but I don't remember seeing a shot of Lexi's on the par-3 17th.
That aside, it was a great event - worthy for this old man to stay up late for. Inky exhibited such heart to overcome Brontë Law and clinch it for Korea. She is one of the underappreciated Seoul Sisters partly due to her choice of not playing that often or to injury. But when she does play, she can really shine.
I was sweating about In Gee being able to hold that lead. She was 4up after the turn but got that lead got whittled to one. What a relief she held on.
It was the best Sung Hyun Park and the worst Sung Hyun Park all in one match. She may have a cool exterior but she gets rattled after making a bad shot. Ariya Jutanugarn kept cool through it all. I'm becoming really impressed about her growing maturity on the course. If only she can become comfortable using a driver.
So Yeon was solid. She had a fine duel with Lexi, who was solid as well, and it was a deservedly drawn match.
Jessica Korda had the only runaway match. I look forward to her winning many more match points for the U.S.
The other two Americans, I'm not so optimistic about. Both Cristie Kerr and Michelle Wie failed to convert a point on a hole where their opponents hit their balls into the water. I got to thinking last night if we would ever see Kerr play in a team event again. I figure she might, might, get into the next Solheim but that will be it.

So, where are they rumored to be playing in 2020? All Whan is saying is that it will be in a new country that hasn't held it before. Hmm, I see a links course in my fuzzy crystal ball. If they want fans to come Japan should be the choice. Europe fans only show up for Rider Cup and Solheim Cup.

I only watched the last three hours of the IL, but it was worth every minute of it. Looks like everyone has said what I was going to say. So congratulation to the Korean Team for a tough victory. Kudos to So Yeon for the birdie from the bunker to tie Thompson. Not to mention the gutsy play of In Kung Kim.

Europe fans only show up for Rider Cup and Solheim Cup. I agree Japan is a logical choice. But not for 2020. The Tokyo Olympics and their golf competition that same summer would totally overshadow and swallow up any IC buzz. It would be like having the 2016 IC in Barcelona. If Europe likes the Ryder and Solheim Cups, maybe they'll like the IC. A truly international competition should include Europe. I could be completely wrong. I haven't really thought much about it.

First time watching the UL International Crown and I have to say it was well worth the 2am alarm that I set.
These team events often fizzle out, but it's clear that both the players and the Korean fans bought into the concept.
The Solheim Cup is the premier team event in women's golf, but I expect to see this event surpass it in the coming years.
With regards to the 2020 venue, I suspect it will be in Asia again as it leads nicely into the Asian swing of events. Japan's a good call, or perhaps even Thailand.

KOREA FOR THE WIN!!!!Congratulations to Team Korea on their long awaited win at the International Crown. That it came in a down year for them, after two near misses in previous Crowns, in front of their home crowd and legend Se Ri Pak, makes it all the more perfect. I am so proud of these ladies and what they accomplished. They had SO MUCH pressure on their shoulders. I read somewhere that after every round they were giving the longest press conferences as well as the most fan obligations. Somehow they kept their head in it and made tons of clutch, brilliant plays. They had almost no easy matches yet won most of them. They basically answered every question I had going in with a resounding YES! Not surprisingly, the other teams ganged up on them again, sending their top players against them in the singles. But the Sisters were out to make a statement, and boy did they. Before the singles even started, they recovered from a slow start to wax both English teams and take a 2 point lead into the singles. For the week, each player contributed, each one did something special and amazing. I.K. Kim is all heart. Remember, she came into here off an injury, having missed the cut the previous week. She probably volunteered to face the English player, knowing it might turn out to be the pivotal match. Despite struggling early, she never gave up. Her comeback was inspirational. I just love watching that little lady make great putts! In Gee Chun has been a shadow of her former self much of the year. She had no easy task in playing Nordqvist. She alone was able to get a big lead early to give the Sisters a shot of confidence. When she started to struggle, I worried, but she made some great, clutch plays to keep that lead and get the all-important two points for the win. Who imagined at the start of the week that she would have a 4-0 record? Sung Hyun Park was far from perfect, but she also had the toughest match-up of the four. When was the last time the Solheim Cup featured a #1 vs. #2 match up like this? And you also had a #3 vs. #5 match up to boot. Y'see, this is why you invite the Asians. Anyway, their match was electrifying, with the Namdalla fans losing their stuff every few shots, and the two duking it out like a pair of lumbering heavyweights. Park made a few too many mistakes, but it was a noble effort. So Yeon Ryu is such a star. Man. You can just tell everyone on that team treats her like the alpha. In her match, she looked in control until the hole midway through where Thompson hit into the bunker. Ryu just needed to put it on the green for a possible win, but she hit it into the water, and that started a downward trend that saw Lexi go two up. Not to worry: Ryu fought hard, got back to square, then hit a SUPERLATIVE bunker shot on the last to save the tie. OK, by that time the Koreans had already won, but I just gotta say, that shot was beautiful. I'm loving this result, and love this team and how well they gelled. Congrats again to TEAM KOREA. HWAITING!!! Trophy! Se Ri crowns the new queens In Gee So Yeon Sung Hyun Inky Fanz More teamwork

I'm thinking that Thailand would likely be the next host country.
I gotta believe Stupples was referring to Sei Young, Hye Jin, Jin Young, Jeong Eun, and Inbee.

Hooray that Se Ri got to Crown them. Ai-sama can crown the next winners. Japan is a longshot to win, but the way the rankings work they are a lock to make the competition. Even though i don't totally agree with the way the rankings are weighted towards KLPGA JLPGA. I think Ayako-san should get more credit for playing in the big leagues. That's why i was so glad she made the team after all.
This year IC was in October. Olympics are Jul 24, 2020 – Aug 9, 2020. A couple months in between. They could go to Okinawa ( Miyazato's home town) instead of Tokyo. I don't think one will overshadow the other, different audiences. Japan will eat it up. And Korean fans could attend relatively easily.

They don't call her Crusty for nothing. I fully expect her to remain a leading force among US golfers until she is 50, minimum. She has got her professional and personal life all set up nice, don't want to ride off into no sunset. Still the third best US golfer and qualified for the IC with ease.

At the very end of this video, there is what appears to be a pic of Whan, the Korean Team, Se Ri and other dignitaries. It's blurred and dimmed (??), but it looks like Inky put her Crown on the Royal head of Pak Se Ri Cmon HappyFan... do your magic and find that photo! www.youtube.com/watch?v=ssD7TfiMIco(pointing my fingers up... then down while singing) In Gee... Has anyone been able to find a video of the awards ceremony? I managed to find five or six fan-made videos of So Yeon Ryu winning the Japan Women's Open last week, but I haven't found any clips of this week's awards. I know they filmed it, because they keep showing scenes from it on Golf Central.
If you find it, post it here, I'd love to see it (I'm sure we all would!).

This clip shows highlights from the three team rounds, including some from the third round of team play that I never got a chance to see on Golf Channel. It's in Korean. This lady had behind the scenes access to the tournament. It's in Korean, and only fleeting glimpses of the Sisters. But I found it fun to watch. Is she available to work for Golf Channel?
