So Yeon struggled, but just when she needed to, she pulled out three great birdies to rescue her round and keep her hopes of the trophy alive. She'll be in the final group with a two shot deficit, which on this course isn't a lot. If the two ahead of her cool down a bit, which often happens after a great round, So Yeon is perfectly positioned to take advantage.
To start out some stats, about the group that I followed today. Jin Young Ko hit 15 of eighteen greens. Two of her three missed greens were on the fringe. A lot of the missed birdies were inside twelve feet. Thirty putts. Minus 4 isn't bad but that's the absolute worse score that she could have made. Also she has a different putter.
Moriya hit twelve greens, 24 putts including a chip in, after a bad shot. Result minus eight today.
Bottom line great putting solves everything.
Joined So Yeon on the back nine. On the front nine she had a double bogey and two birdies. She missed a birdie putt on number ten, birdied eleven. But made bogey on twelve. Looked as if she was just going to settle for even par. But she made birdie on the last three holes to stay right near the top. There is no quiet in that wonderful lady
What putter? I saw she had a new red one in the bag last week. Has she changed again?

No she still has the red putter. I never paid attention to which putter she was using before. I asked her manager about the change and she said it was two weeks ago.
Yea, Yea, Yea So Yeon won. I joined the group on number ten. She missed a birdie putt on ten. On the par five number eleven she hit her second shot towards the green. I must have missed what happened on her third shot. The next shot that I saw her hit was from behind the green. Which she chipped pretty close but missed the putt. I thought it was a birded putt, but it was for par. But as great golfers do she followed the bogey with a birdie on number twelve.
The..... I think was the defining moment of the tournament. On number thirteen she had to hit a low shot from under the trees. She pulled it off, but it ran all the way over the green. She was faced with a blind shot to a downhill green. She chipped it within five feet and made par.
Making an almost impossible up and down under pressure. Can really improve your attitude about things. You think to yourself ok, I got this.
She just hit quality shot after quality shot after that. Made two birdies coming in, that could have easily been more.
When Anna on seventeen, only one stroke behind her made double bogey and she made birdie. It gave her a three shot lead. Walking up eighteen I saw Carolyn chip in for birdie to cut it to two. But because she only need to make a bogey to win, I knew she had the tournament.
I am glad Lydia was there to congratulate her. She also had a good tournament minus eighteen third place. Not a bad tournament for Jin Young Ko minus fourteen, minus five today. Hee Young Park had one of her best finishes minus fourteen, tie thirteen minus six today.
Kudos: Ariya best round today minus ten.
I really love that So Yeon won, but minus fifteen did not get you a top ten. That just shouldn't happen.
I was going to get on So Yeon's case yesterday for not having that killer instinct but she goes and birdies her last three holes. Today, she kept her head while everyone around here had that one stumble that cost them.
I agree that it's weird to be -15, with a -10 under final round and not get a top ten.
