Thank god they moved away from the last venue. That final hole was horrible. My preview in the link below if you're into that sort of thing. The gambling aspect holds no interest for me...but your surprising inclusion of MHL in your analysis was extremely astute. You might find this article amusing...the PGA Tour played the Tournament of Champions in Las Vegas one week after the 1968 Masters: www.si.com/vault/1968/04/29/609836/a-sick-man-gets-a-quick-cureThe most instructive part of the article: At any of several bookie shops, one of the most notable being at the Pussycat A-Go Go, which becomes what it sounds like in the evenings, you can bet man against man in every daily pairing with appropriate odds, and you can bet against changing odds on who will eventually win the championship. For example, Bob Goalby opened at 12 to 1 before Thursday's first round, went to 8 to 1 when he trailed the first-round leaders by two strokes, moved to 6 to 1 after 36 holes and dropped to 6-5 on Sunday.
"I really hate this part of it," said Tom Weiskopf, the tour's leading money winner and a young man who drew a lot of attention in Vegas because of his early success this year and because the absence of Palmer and Nicklaus left few top stars in the field. "It really bothers me to have guys coming up and saying, 'Hey, I got fifty on you today." I don't like picking up the paper and reading that I'm 9 to 5 to beat the fellow I'm paired with. I just don't particularly like the town. I wish the tournament was held in the Midwest somewhere."

The forecast for tomorrow are less rain and thunders possible before 7:00 AM; winds of less than 13 mph all day.
They should be able to complete a round tomorrow.

There aren't any reasons they don't start by 9:30 AM.
The thunders should be gone by 9:00 AM; rains and winds are manageable.

If there have been “severe storms” there will probably be some work to do on the golf course-bunkers, etc.

Earliest start time is now 11:15 AM.
This new venue is ill prepared to host a tournament; let alone a professional event where money is involved.
Where is Augusta National when we need it?

Good excuses for superintendent and the ground crew; or is superintendent the only ground crew member?

Speaking of incompetence! The afternoon group won't hit a shot today.

They should extend this into Monday. This isn't a two-bit birdie-fest like the Evian.

I doubt they'll use Monday. Although it does seem the right thing to do, especially with no event next week.

It's getting ridiculous; why don't they just cancel today?
