The first round is Friday at the seaside Kawana Hotel GC. Not the greatest lineup, as BML, Sky and Big Mama Ahn are skipping this one. They had a Monday qualifier that brought in 13 players to complete the field at 108. Japan TV (local time): Round 2 Sat. 4/21 Fuji TV 3:30 PM Round 3 Sun. 4/22 Fuji TV 1:00 PM aqstream.com/jp/fuji/Fuji-TV****** Additional broadcasts will probably show up on Youtube via this character string: フジサンケイレディスクラシック

I did some research on a question I posted last week: When was the last time the Koreans were shut out of the top-10 on the JLPGA tour? Answer: 2016 Fujitsu Ladies (Oct. 7-9). ******** RANK PLAYER SCORE TODAY 1R 2R 3R TOTAL 1T Momoko Ueda -8 -4 67 67 134 1T Misuzu Narita -8 -2 65 69 134 3 Kyoka Matsumori -7 -3 67 68 135 4 Rumi Yoshiba -6 -3 68 68 136 5 Saki Nagamine -5 +1 65 72 137 6T Natsuki Hatano -4 -2 69 69 138 6T Erika Kikuchi -4 -2 69 69 138 6T Shoko Sasaki -4 -2 69 69 138 6T Serena Aoki -4 +1 66 72 138 10T Hina Arakaki -3 -4 72 67 139 10T Kana Nagai -3 -3 71 68 139 10T Yukari Nishiyama -3 -2 70 69 139 10T Miki Saiki -3 -1 69 70 139 10T Minami Katsu -3 +3 65 74 139 Kotone Hori (MC) is a total disaster this season...made only ¥243,000 (about $2,257 USD) this season. A mid-season priority re-seeding will be done later...I don't know if she is in danger of getting dumped into the JLPGA washout tour. Kyoka Matsumori Newbie Natsuki Hatano continued her auspicious debut...at 9:55 the video below has her Friday ace at #17: www.youtube.com/watch?v=vgCHRQmW1nIMi Jeong Jeon and Sakura Koiwai, both -1 Rumi Yoshiba and defending champ Yumiko Yoshida(-2) ****** Momoka Miura (+2) jarred her tee ball at the par-3 6th hole on Friday...but not in the hole:

Looking forward to the broadcast at Midnight EST. Many big names skipped this one, but it's still worth watching for maybe the most scenic golf course on this tour. It'll be in the mid-70s F with wind under 10 MPH. Weiwei Zhang and Karen Gondo MY Lee and Megumi Kido

I will probably watch tonight, because it will be at nine o'clock local time. I hate that they don't show players name in English as well as Japanese, like KLPGA does. I can also recognize some last names in the Korean language but none in Japanese.
Ok I just saw Momoko, at least I know her.

This is just ill...Natsuki Hatano (who took 16 bows during this ceremony) made six times more money for her Friday ace at #17 than for playing the tournament. Jae Eun Chung's Sunday 66 saved the reputations of the Korean invaders by keeping the top-10 streak alive. Epic fail by Viva Heart for putting Kana Nagai(-1) in a matronly nursing outfit.

I didn't watch the finish, after Momoko dropped out of the lead. It was a very scenic course by the sea. I noticed a couple of long holes, no. five 470 yards par four and a 568 yard par five. Is that typical of JLPGA setups, or a rarity.
Anyway a congratulation to Saki Nagamine. A great final round, 65 by Erica Kikuchi, to get into the playoff.

Yes, the par-4 5th hole was pre-tourney story. It was a par-5 last year, but I don't know what the yardage was. When the last threesome reached the green today, the daily hole average was 4.333, with 2 birdies and 39 pars (63 players made the cut).
