Although they're playing for comparative chump change this week (¥60 million), most of the big name Sisters will tee off Friday, including BML, Sky, Big Mama Ahn, Shin, and Hae Rym Kim. They have a mishmash of Nippon TV-related channels covering this at all different times...I have good streams for most of them. They will also cover the 1st hole for Round Two at 7 AM and Round Three at 7:15 AM (Japan times)...I might have a streaming link that works for this...if it's the right one.

Rookie Erika Hara was given an invite this week as a reward for winning on Japan's Step Up tour last week. Her golf "master" is the legendary Jumbo Ozaki, who gave her one of his 58.5 Masdagolf wedges (below). Here's a better look at that wedge from last month...stamped JUMBO

Round Two will be broadcast on Saturday at 2PM (Japan time)....it might be on this link: aqstream.com/jp/ntv/NTV***** Round One was suspended by bad weather. A replay of it might be shown at 9 AM EST Friday on this link: nooblive.com/node/1374RANK PLAYER SCORE HOLE TODAY 1R 2R 3R TOTAL 1 Rumi Yoshiba -4 14 -4 2 Ai Suzuki -3 10 -3 3T Eriko Kobashi -1 *F -1 71 71 3T @konoha Okada -1 *18 -1 5T Sun-Ju Ahn 0 13 0 5T Ha-Neul Kim 0 10 0 5T Satsuki Oshiro 0 *18 0 8T Kyoka Matsumori +1 F +1 73 73 8T Eri Okayama +1 F +1 73 73 8T O Sattaya +1 F +1 73 73 8T Hiromu Ono +1 *F +1 73 73 8T Akane Yoshino +1 16 +1 8T Akane Iijima +1 16 +1 8T Yumiko Yoshida +1 14 +1 8T Jiyai Shin +1 14 +1 8T Momoka Miura +1 14 +1 8T Teresa Lu +1 13 +1 8T Karen Gondo +1 *18 +1 This looks like trouble BML (+3 thru 12 holes) and Kotone Hori (+2 thru 10 holes) Momoka Miura...shooting 80 and quitting last week didn't deter her fanboys. Ai Suzuki made a comfortable return to the AAA circuit. O Sattaya and Hae Rym Kim (+5 thru 15 holes)

Ai Suzuki has taken a 3-shot lead early in the 2nd round. Can someone explain explain why she finished DFL among the players who made cut at the ANA? Even Florentyna Parker scored better, which is embarrassing. Ai must have been totally ill-at-ease in that environment...but, it still makes no sense...since 2016, she is the BEST putter on the JLPGA, period. Suzuki and Big Mama Ahn

philknjThere's something about Japanese JLPGA players and LPGA. It took Ai Miyazato a long time to assimilate and it's happening with Nasa Hataoka now. Ai Suzuki also didn't distinguish herself during the 2016 International Crown tournament.

The KLPGA rarely seems to excel at the ANA either. Jeong Eun Lee 6 is one of the best putters on the KLPGA IMO and she did OK (top 20) but not like she did at the US Women's Open.

I struck out on finding a live stream for Round Two, but I'm more confident that Round Three will be here on Sunday at 3 PM (Japan time): aqstream.com/jp/ntv/NTV Videos are being posted slowly on Youtube...copy/paste the character string below and sort it by upload date: スタジオアリス女子オープン RANK PLAYER SCORE TODAY 1R 2R 3R TOTAL 1 Ai Suzuki -8 -3 67 69 136 2 Rumi Yoshiba -5 0 67 72 139 3T Eri Okayama -1 -2 73 70 143 3T Hiromu Ono -1 -2 73 70 143 3T Ji-Hee Lee -1 -5 76 67 143 3T Yukari Nishiyama -1 -3 74 69 143 3T Mamiko Higa -1 -2 73 70 143 3T @yuka Yasuda -1 -5 76 67 143 9T Ha-Neul Kim 0 +2 70 74 144 9T Ayako Kimura 0 -3 75 69 144 The cut was +5. Natsuka Hori (+5) was in tears after making the cut for the first time on Japan's big tour in 33 months Kotone Hori (+4) Sky Kim and the JLPGA's box of chocolates, Hae Rym Kim (MC) Double MC trouble...Sakura Koiwai and Aya Tamura Hee Kyeong Bae(+2) Bo Mee Lee(+1) and Kana Nagai(+3) Cut speed...landing gear down and locked...flaps down...Chie Arimura(MC) and Miki Saiki(+3) have cleared you for landing.
