Last year the PGA Tour relaxed its smartphone/video/photo policy and allowed its usage as long in was on silent mode.
I had assumed the LPGA Tour followed suit because the marshalls at the KIA never said anything.
However, this past weekend at the ANA, the marshalls were fairly strict and the back of their Quiet Please signs said No Photos. I just looked at the KIA and ANA tournament websites and sure enough, cameras are listed as prohibited items during tournament play.
Come on, LPGA! This a lost battle. Just tell everyone to put their phones on silent.

Only place I’ve been with NO PHONES is the Masters, even on practice round days. Not a bad trade off for no stupid “mashed potatoes” or “bababooey” either.

They must've chosen not to enforce the rule. www.thornberrycreeklpgaclassic.com/spectator/prohibited-items-guidelines/Cell phones are allowed, but no cameras or video cameras. How does that work in the age of smartphones?

Thinking back to the 2015 USWO in Lancaster...not sure, but I think taking videos during the practice rounds was prohibited...of course, taking still photos was okay. However, who was going to know that I set my camera's setting to video? WHICH I DID! I just did a quick review of those videos on my PC...they include Ting Ting's driver swing on the range. My camera is buried somewhere, so I took my clam phone to Bedminster last year and took stills with that. A two-shot of MHL and I is the new wallpaper on my cell. Yes, The Masters is maniacally against bringing in electronic devices, which would explain the photo below. Do you pay for these calls, or is it for free? It reminds me of attending the first round of the '92 Bell Atlantic Classic (Senor tour) at Chester Valley GC. Cell phones were not widely common yet...Bell Atlantic set up mobile units with banks of pay phones on the course property.
