Pretty good interview for a general interest morning show. Tiff and Heather are very well spoken and the hosts were not idiots, unlike American morning show hosts. Can you imagine an 8-minute LPGA segment on the Today show or GMA? No, you cannot. Unless the Giraffe wins another major. And they would spend the entire segment doing a putting contest on the studio carpet.LMAO Candidate for post of the year. I LUV reading when a YANK is trashing their own. As much as Happyfan hates being a YANK...he never really trashes the Mericans except for their RACISM against the Sista's.

Didn't know Heather was a Yale grad...obviously fairly bright. I know nothing about her job performance at the LPGA, but HDD was first class in every way from what I observed at the June 2009 USWO qualifier at Neshanic Valley GC...from The Archives: The venue was Neshanic Valley Golf Course, a four year-old, gold-plated county layout of 27 holes. As expected, it was double-tough...large water hazards, 2-4 ft. wild grass, few trees to block the wind, etc. Only six players broke 80 during the AM. After HDD finished her first eighteen holes(75), she said it was a long golf course with heavy rough and her ball picked up a lot of mud.
This was my first extended look at HDD and she impressed me. She’s at least 40, but her full backswing seemed quite youthful. She picked up a couple of early birdies, but gave them back, courtesy of the shag carpet rough. I checked out her bag – Fourteen Golf driver, Callaway woods, Hogan Apex Edge irons & GW, Titleist Vokey SW & LW. Plays without a glove and she pulls the trigger fast on all her shots. I later observed that she’s a really good people person too.
When I returned to the clubhouse, most of the final scores had been posted. HDD posted another 75, so she was a lock to get in. I was surprised that someone this good was here. Why wasn’t she down in MD with the other LPGAers? It turns out that she is retired! I didn’t know that. She hasn’t played a tournament since last October...hardly plays at all these days. She has a daughter who is 2 ½.
The low medalist was amateur Brittany Altomare (75-71). HDD introduced herself to her, asked where she was from (Shrewsbury, MA), was she H.S. or college (incoming freshman at Virginia), who’s the coach there (“Oh, you’ll like playing for her”).
Each qualifier received an instruction book regarding the USWO. The qualifiers and alternates:
Brittany Altomare(a) (75-71-146) Nannette Hill(a) (74-75-149) Heather Daly-Donofrio (75-75-150) Marina Alex(a) (78-75-153) A – Sarah Brown(a) (83-74-157) A – Liselotte Neumann (83-75-158)*
* - decided by a playoff among three or four player. I didn’t hang around to watch it.BONUS DIRT: * Third-hand scuttlebutt: A guy there talked about playing golf with one of The Donald's past caddies, who told him that Mr. Orange's rep as a low-handicapper was inflated - he’s an expert with the foot wedge and, if necessary, the pencil. - Slowpoke alert: The last group of the day was visible on the 15th fairway, while I was with the group ahead of them on the 17th tee. Later in the clubhouse, the two old-timers in the last group (I think Kim Williams was one of them) were grumbling about the young turtle in their group (Sarah Brown).

I know it's not statistically valid yet, but Inky is off to a shi**y start in 2018...bombed out in The Bahamas (76-79) and is +5 on her first eleven holes in Singapore. I know she lost her clubs recently, but I'm confused on why she had someone from Callaway building her a new set. She had a banner season in 2017 with Mizuno irons and T/M woods, why change? I haven't found any good pix from 2018 to see exactly what she is playing. ****** Phew, back to normal...MHL -1 thru eight holes.

OK Phil....WTF. So are these archives electronic and stored on some external hard drive or are they some hand scribbles piled up in your HOARDING stack?
I didn't know HDD is 48....for some reason I thought she was late 30's...obviously I never paid any attention to her. Wow...Marina Alex has played for a while....I always thought she was fairly young.
It's no secret that the GREAT GREAT MAN is a YUGE vanity capper.

Some unfortunate sweat marks for Jessica Korda... LMAO I noticed that too.....wet head lights...one would think a gal with a big chest would sweat under her breasts...but Jess has a small chest. Too bad SMOKESHOW isn't playing...just sayin.

If Inky was playing Mizuno irons....one would think she'd be gaming the new Cally X Forged's. Hopefully she's using her old wedge and putter models.

Wow...Marina Alex has played for a while....I always thought she was fairly young. It's no secret that the GREAT GREAT MAN is a YUGE vanity capper. My memory banks and hand scribbling gets dumped into MS-Word ASAP, where I do my polished write-ups. All my pre-2015 reports were posted on the old forum until it died, but it's saved at home. I do have a lot of pairing sheets from individual rounds and pro-ams, which are also used as source material...I save those too, but it has gotten disorganized. Here's some more ancient history from that USWO qualifier: One the back nine, I found the group of Lynn Valentine, Crystal Lee, and Kelly (Woo-Jung) Shon. Lee’s takeaway reminded me a little of Hee Won Han and Karrie Webb. Shon had the most obscure irons. They were stamped with ‘W.D.D. Accurate Forging’. They said ‘Made in Japan’ on the hosel – maybe these were from a boutique club maker.I have since learned that the above terminology is used by Miura.
