This is not a prediction, but it's possible that Tiff Chan will yank that trophy out of the hands of the New Ko and G. Hall. One advantage that TC has is that she has played extensively in the U.S. and the other two have not. I watched her play a little at the 2016 USWA...she was okay, but I didn't expect her to kill it at LPGA q-school...she might be peaking at the right time. I wish she had more swing videos on her IG...here's a sample from March 2017...extremely sound and she took NO divot. Notice this comment: No wonder you shot 71 from blues at LA North! Glad you could enhance our group Tiffany :-Dhttps://www.instagram.com/p/BRo8Ex-AEXe

Phil WTF...I thought of all the few sound minds on this site...you were one of them....you're now off the list...not that you or anyone else gives a sh*t. LMAO. Two women race for ROY....Hall & REAL Ko....nuff said.
If you looked at SMOKESHOW's swing....one would think she's a world beater....NOT. Ya gotta scramble and score...the scorecard has no pics....just sayin.
BTW...if Tiff wants to compete against Muni for the attention of all the horn dogs in China...she's gotta do selfies with less clothes....nuff said.

There are only three documented MONSTERS on the LPGA tour that could destroy a golf course when their game is going full-tilt: Lexi, Terminator, and Ariya 51 .... all the other players are human beings!!! You are giving more credit to the New Ko and G. Hall than they deserve. Ko is the ROY favorite on paper, but the future record of players getting an LPGA card by winning the Hana Bank tournament is mostly dismal. Q Baek and Jin Joo Hong were washouts. Jee Young Lee played solid for three or four years, but didn't win again. True, Shi Hyun Ahn was the 2004 ROY, but she never won again. IMHO, Ko might be just as good as the Ahn of 2004 thru 2007 (which was pretty good). Ko better do everything Lampshade Herden tells her. As for Hall, I watched her tee off with Su Oh at the start of her Sunday round in Bedminster last year...for sure, she has some game, but really, most of her street cred was earned on the LET!!! TC is not the only dark horse. I've seen Robynn Ree and NK Madsen in person and they are physically impressive...although that can mean nothing at times.

Phil As was only referring to Ko & Hall in the 2018 ROY race....and not comparing them to any other proven LPGA winners. Yes, Tiff has a chance .......why not.....look at Badass in 2015 for the ROY...she was so under the radar...but I think we agree that on paper...Ko & Hall likely will be the ROY winner.

Ahn, Baek and Jee Young Lee were all rookies when they won the CJ/Hana Bank. Even though Baek in particular had a good freshman year on the KLPGA, she was the youngest of all of them. Hong was relatively undistinguished when she won. Jin Young Ko is a ten-time winner on the KLPGA. That's more than So Yeon Ryu, Sei Young Kim, Ha Na Jang, and In Gee Chun, and almost as much as Sung Hyun Park. And she showed she could do it over four very consistent seasons. There's no comparison between her and the other Hana Bank winners. Could she lay a stink bomb? Anything's possible, but given her track record, she is hands down the favorite. I don't even think the overrated Hall is in the same ballpark, unless you think success on the LET is comparable to success on the KLPGA (I don't). Chan, Ree, and the others have a very hard road to even challenge Ko if she plays at the level she is capable of (ie, top 20 in the world, which I think she is now). Having said that, I'm rooting to see Harang Lee sometime this year. She will have a hard time even keeping her tour card, but she's a Korean from Spain, so I would love just to hear her give an interview! Harang and her Spanish national team friends:

Yes...the LET is a poser tour.....but I'm not judging Georgia based on that tour....she played well at the WBO and Fake major, Evian...she played ok at the Solheim....Hall also has a fair bit of length...which always helps.
I continue to think it will be a 2 women race for ROY...Ko & Hall...it might end up resulting on who plays the most events in 2018 to become the eventual winner.

That Hana Bank win gives the New Ko one advantage over all the other rookies: guaranteed access to all LPGA events in 2018. One of the chasers will have to be shot out of cannon from the start (ex: Alison Lee in 2015) to give her some real competition. Let's see if any of them can take advantage of a weak field in the Bahamas.

I think most of the rookies (10 Symetra & 20 Q school) will have access to play in all full field events with a cut and aren't the limited field events not official for raking up ROY points...or is it only an 'official" money thing? I still have yet to make any commitment to head down to Portland...it has become a lousy event with a poor field since Safeway bailed...but the course and logistics of Portland are really nice. I wish Van City or Seattle had annual events for selfish reasons. Oh ya....I think GIMMEE will again have a mediocre year...she's too busy hanging out with the Babe Cave gals.
