Read on WRX that Jason Duffner doesn't have a Titleist contract anymore so he just wore different hats during last week's Tournament of Champions, including a Toronto Blue Jays hat and a Biggie Smalls hat. That's awesome. Sure beats wearing a blank hat or visor for a whole friggin' year! In Gee has been a top 5 or top 10 ranked female pro for quite some time. The Duf is currently ranked 41 and was 34 last October....so let's see if he follows the Korean Classic Poor Execution ways and takes 12 months to find a front logo sponsor.

I'm not surprised MHL dumped Puggy......speaking with him at the 2016 KPMG....you could tell he was getting a bit frustrated and feed-up with the DRAMA QUEEN.

On Morning Drive, they were on site of Pressel's charity event with a line up of interviews from some of the LPGA pros, including SYR. It got me then thinking....as much as she moves the needle....Wie rarely or ever??...plays in these charity events. So either she's not that popular with her LPGA peers to obtain an invite to their charity events...or she does get invites and too selfish to attend if she and BJ aren't collecting a pay check.
You also rarely see or read anything about Wie doing anything charitable....e.g.) attending hospitals, etc etc I can't recall any mention of her donating any winnings...though this could very well be done privately.
And she rarely plays any silly season events or exhibitions...so is she not invited or declines them all.
I continue to SMH.....Wie really demonstrates nothing that would make one want to root for her. For those of you that have attended events...you have all witnessed that she's not overly fan friendly neither...she acts as if it's a chore to interact with the fans. Yet she has many DROOLBOYS.
I don't get it...so please someone .....advise why she's a needle mover?....in my books she's simply just an aloof Asian Giraffe.

1.) On Morning Drive, they were on site of Pressel's charity event with a line up of interviews from some of the LPGA pros, including SYR. It got me then thinking....as much as she moves the needle....Wie rarely or ever??...plays in these charity events. So either she's not that popular with her LPGA peers to obtain an invite to their charity events...or she does get invites and too selfish to attend if she and BJ aren't collecting a pay check. 2.) Yet she has many DROOLBOYS. 1.) I'm no authority on the various charity tournaments that may involve LPGAers. I'm guessing the biggest one is the annual Val Skinner breast cancer event in NJ, which she has been running for a long time. She had it on the Monday after the end of the 2017 Shop-Rite/Acer. MW was not there...I looked up group pics from other years and she's not in any of them...and Skinner's website does not list her as an attendee, ever. Another prominent event is the KoreAmProAm, which is usually run in Calif. on the Monday after the LPGA's ANA Inspiration. There might not be a charity element to this one, but the pro list is at least 80% Korean every year. But, I skimmed through a bunch of photos online and I don't see MW anywhere. MHL has been a regular attendee...from 2013. Top row, from left: LGPA pros Danielle Kang, Jennie Lee, Ilhee Lee, Eun Jung Yi, Eun Hee Ji, Mi Hyang Lee, Jennifer Song, Tiffany Joh, Esther Choe, Jane Park, Irene Cho and Vicky Hurst. Bottom row, from left: LPGA pros Angela Park, M.J. Hur, Seon Hwa Lee, Mindy Kim, Chella Choi, Se Ri Pak, Meena Lee, Birdie Kim, Jeong Jang, Jee Young Lee and Jenny Shin. 2.) As I think back to when HF first started this forum in 2005, I can't recall a single member ever being a big fan of MW. Isn't that funny? There has never been a "Wiefan" equivalent on this board. Pak, Grace, Peanut, Ryu, MHL, Rocket, BadA$$, Dumbo, Winbee, Sky, BML, Sharon and others have had heavy support here, but never MW.

I saw Michelle up close at the Volvik last season near the scoring tent after her 2nd round, and she was very fan friendly, even though she had just missed the cut. She was taking photos with fans, and signing autographs. She had a big smile on her face.
She's a very popular player with the casual fans. The demands on her time when she's on the tournament grounds have to be huge.
I believe she's not a big favorite here because she has been a long time underachiever. Between the injuries and the swing changes, not completely unrelated, she's never achieved a sustained level of success. I'll admit that she isn't the most cheerful person on the planet when she's not playing well, and that's got to be a big factor. Folks love winners, or lovable losers. Pouty losers? Not so much.

It's not just that she's an underachiever, it's that she's an underachiever that the golf media in this country continues, after a decade and a half, to claim is the most important player in the women's game, and also probably the best "as soon as she gets over the hump". It's insulting to the sport as a whole.
I have no problem if they treat Wie as a good golfer and give her more attention than most because they like her looks or whatever. But be realistic about her level, and be fair to the great golfers who have actually done amazing things on tour. I guarantee you that if this were men's golf, a player like Inbee Park would be a legend, needle mover or not. But in women's golf, you have to be American, tall, a long hitter, and attractive in a marketable way to get any attention. If they can't find someone who fits all those criteria, they have shown that they will simply pretend that the one they like best does.

Nice photo collection from last November...not only am I living in the wrong neighborhood (PGA Tour Superstore is 50 miles away), but I am living in the wrong part of the world, too. https://www.instagram.com/p/BbL0zfLjNKG
