I am writing an article on Lydia Ko and her career so far.
I have a pretty good knowledge of her but i'm sure some of you will have some facts/stories about her that aren't publicized as much in the media.
What's one unusual thing that would make for a good talking point?

There's not much to write about Lydia that hasn't already been written about the WunderKid....just plagiarize and copy & paste Wikipedia. Don't expect any contribution from Happyfan...he hates the ENTITLED Kiwi Princess.

My favorite Lydia story is that two retired pros took a shine to her and taught her how to play and score. In addition to her swing coach who obviously knows what he’s doing.
It was from a video profile that’s on the internet somewhere.

I posted the video below two years ago which is about Shin Ae Ahn, but it shows Lydia Ko at 0:47 applauding Sharon's tee shot...I'm guessing this is around 2003-04. The relationship between the two would be an interesting angle to explore today...I don't know if anyone has done that. Last month's Hana Bank might have been the first pro tournament that had both of them.
I would definitely review the entire collection of videos from Holden Golf World for stuff on Lydia, as well as players she played with, like Cecilia Cho.

What's one unusual thing that would make for a good talking point? Controversy SELLS. Another spin would be to write how golf was shoved down Lydia's throat 24/7 by Tina....the only day she didn't play or practice back in NZ was on Xmas day....because the golf club was closed.....you could additionally write how Korean parents make their children play/practice 16 hours a day and if they don't succeed...they are called LOSERS....an if they don't win by 8 strokes...their trophies are thrown in the garbage....ala Anthony Kim. It hasn't been written in detail....how about getting in contact with all the caddies that Tina FIRED.....except for Gary Matthews...none have lipped off....I'm sure Gary still has more to spout about. Heck...Jason Hamilton could fill up 5 pages.....how he was made to stand there like a DORK holding a towel just before Lydia addressed her putt. You could title you article..."Me & Tina....Golf's true Matriarch"

What's one unusual thing that would make for a good talking point? You should probably ignore some of the above suggestions, unless you are looking to do a hatchet job on her, which I doubt. The most interesting aspect of Lydia right now is focusing on how she is trying to come back from her recent fall from the top spot. For so long she was dominating, then, all of a sudden, she is struggling. Lately she seems to be picking up the pieces, but it would be interesting to hear about how she remains positive in the face of her decline and rebuilding.

The golf stories I'd like to read are about the best players having their best tournaments on the best courses. Oral history. Photo essay. Data you don't see much like which holes they gained the most on the field and why.
For Lyds that was at Royal Melbourne in 2015.
