www.lpga.com/news/2017-lpga-schedule-announcement1) Surprised the Lorena event survived....though now a match play event and in May...it will be curious if it's well attended by the premier pros. 2) a 12 week stretch starting May 15 3) the Portland event will likely be another week field.....I doubt many pros will leave the east coast (CWO) , fly to Portland and return for Indy. Unless some stars show up in Portland...I'll likely not attend....guess my fanboying will have to wait. 4) a 7 week Pac Rim stretch in the fall....I doubt Lydia will play Reignwood after the NZ Open and Blue Bay is now the last Asia swing event before the CME.....again....the Chinese are getting scr*wed with the largest purses on the fall Asia swing...I HATE all this racism against the Chinese.. Front end load the 1st Asia swing to provide more relief on the 2nd Asia swing......the Chinese need to give Whan the 1 finger salute.

Overall, it's trending in the right direction. The only thing lacking is sponsorship from major US Corporations.
Whoever wins US Open, with it's winner's share of $900,000, will go a long way towards winning money title.

That would be a huge win; either Kroger or P&G.

Making the Ochoa a match play is a big boost for this field in quantity and quality. It's a short trip from Texas the week before, so I don't expect anyone to dodge it. The news release said nothing about the criteria for selecting the field. I don't remember exactly how they did it before...I think it was based mostly on the prior season's money list. They had some sponsor invites, because M. Wie played it as an amateur. I think the first one in 2005 might have also used the Rolex Rankings, because Yuri Fudoh was in it.
The Shop-Rite is a sitting duck in the schedule again (Virginia...Michigan...NJ...Ontario...Michigan), though not as badly as 2016 when it was sandwiched between Michigan and the KPMG in Washington. I'm optimistic that Mi Hyang will return to AC again. The Toto in Japan with its "small" purse also looks like a sitting duck...maybe a few Asian-based players will skip that one and play Blue Bay instead. In a perfect world, they should have the week off before CME, move the NZ event to the week before the Aussie Open, and shift the Fall Asian swing back one week.

Excluding USGA events, it appears that NY, PA, Delaware, & New England will be shut out of the LPGA for the foreseeable future.

Where is Amazon, Microsoft, Starbucks, Nordstrom, Costco and Weyerhaeuser when we need them.

Notice what else is missing? Northern California: Swinging Skirts shifted their title sponsorship to the Taiwan event.

I'll probably hit up that KMPG in Chicago. Maybe Solheim if we've got some fun new players.

Wisconsin is a must. Welcome to God's country. I had to leave to get away from the Packers.

Where is Amazon, Microsoft, Starbucks, Nordstrom, Costco and Weyerhaeuser when we need them. He's a salesman, he needs to sell. And anyway, most of the events are sponsored by Asian companies, so if he can come up with a case for a spot as good for a tournament, he can figure out a way to get some Korean conglomerate to sponsor it. You can't tell me JTBC has any business interest in Phoenix, for instance.

Smiley Whan can get a bit cheezy......"check writers" ?........how about saying you're meeting with local key decision makings to secure tournament sponsorships and a host venue. Kroger could be a good prospect....IMO...P&G onto itself is a bit too diversified to make any effective branding for sponsorship ROI.
