A little surprised there were no comments.
Does anyone think Sharon getting the Maxim cover is a good/bad thing? For her? For KLPGA? For womens golf in general? Would she have sought approval from the KLPGA before doing this? I assume she had to get approvals from her sponsors.
I was surprised she got a Maxim cover. I would have guessed a couple page pictorial/story would have been more likely.

Maybe Sharon fatigue is setting in...it's not her first magazine layout. Of course, I'm still a fan...before the old forum board crashed, the Shin Ae Ahn thread I started there in 2010 had about 20,000 hits. As for Maxim, the stuff she did for the Korean version looks pretty tame. I'm sure the KLPGA and TaylorMade/Adidas are delighted to get free exposure like this.
I like this 2010 interview...back then, she was noticeable without having to make an obvious effort.

While I have seen Ahn Shin Ae in golf related magazines before, this was the first time I saw her in a "mens" magazine which normally puts models or women from the entertainment industry (KPOP, actresses, etc...) on the cover. Not sure if I can remember any other golfers (even Gulbis) getting the cover of a "mens" magazine as "popular" as Maxim.
Definitely a rather tame shoot.

Ha Neul Kim did a shoot for Men's Health Magazine a few years back that was definitely racier than this one (though still PG rated). That's the only time I can think of one of the top Korean golfers doing something like that. When I heard Ahn was appearing in Maxim, that was what I was expecting. It's interesting that we don't have more second tier Korean golfers trying to up their marketability by going this route. I've seen Korean female athletes in other sports pose in more provocative ways in Korean magazines (for example, there was that pool player Yoo Ram Cha, and I recall a volleyball player doing it also), so it's not just that Korea itself is against that sort of thing. Perhaps golf itself is kind of a conservative sport and they are afraid of stepping outside of the lines too much and alienating their fans and sponsors? Yu Ram Cha: EDIT: although there were also the photo galleries I posted a few months ago from Japan featuring Bo Mee Lee and Ha Neul Kim. Again, not racy by Western standards, but still a little sexier than these Ahn pics I think.

I didn't realize how much better she used to look. When I see her nowadays, it always reminds me of the wax lips we'd buy from the candy store.
