Followed So Yeon for eighteen holes. Me her mom and a friend of her caddie Tom Watson. That's two more than followed Yani and nobody was following Austin Earnest. I guess their fans got lost.
Anyway her swing looked pretty solid. She drove the ball consistently good all day. Had a couple of weak iron shots that lead to bogies. The putting was average at best. Hopefully she have a better day tomorrow. Another two under wont get her anywhere.

In the telecast, they showed a couple of little girls joyfully mimick Hana's celebration.
Hana should just tell those angry folks back home ,if they don't like it they can go suck on it.

Round 1 Ha Na was apparently not feeling too well. They showed her sitting on her bag at one point with her head in her hands. Still, she rallied from 2 over to 2 under, despite leaving a couple of makeable birdie putts out there. A 70 won't hurt her scoring average too much at all! Couple of names to watch just off the first page: Sung Hyun Park shot a 6 under 66. Be very afraid! Hoping to see her climb into contention for the weekend. And Annie Park also shot a 66. Will she be able to take advantage of Dumbo's infirmities? Sei Young Kim has been a little off her seed the past couple of events, and she is barely ahead of In Gee in the Olympic standings. Good time to shoot a 63! Not a big surprise, but Se Ri announced her intention to retire this year. Apparently the announcers don't read this website, because it seemed to be a big surprise to them. I thought Mi Hyang might give it a go for 59. If she had dunked the eagle putt from off the green, it might have happened. Alas, she came a roll away from a 61. And her front nine 27 is an early contender for best run of holes this year: 7 birdies and an eagle. Yeah, I think this course is playing easy, but that's still darn good. Inbee and So Yeon have some work to do. I sure hope they make the cut so they can do more prep work in a tournament situation. Ryu won't be at Kia, either. Props also to Minjee's 65. Sisters Hwaiting! Mi Hyang Defending champ Hyo Joo Kim shot a 69 Se Ri Na Yeon Choi Jenny Shin Amy Yang and Hyo Joo

I don't quite understand the kerfuffle. I've seen several positive articles in the Korean press about her celebrations. I can see where they would whine about her calling it a 'samurai' lasso, given the sensitivity Koreans have to all things Japanese. But I'm wondering if the complaining is from a more uptight segment of the Korean population and not as widespread as GolfChannel would have you believe... (and at least some of it has to do with the timing of her doing that victory dance after her dad put Dumbo into the hospital).

That this is blown up by the media for page click. Koreans aren't still living in medieval times. But the her tears are real. You can almost feel her despair on the course today. Golf channel didn't make those up. I am aware of the history between Korea and Japan. If a samurai thing was such a big deal, Bo Mee and Ha Neul should have been hanged for treason. The Dumbo thing was an ACCIDENT. How much do people want to punish her for it. Maybe Hana should dress in black to play from now on until Dumbo comes back.

Will you follow any other groups today, in addition to Ryu's? After all, you're only walking through a desert!

And whatever, it doesn't change the fact In Gee will miss at least 3 tournaments.

Bo Mee and Ha Neul going into Japan and winning is perfectly fine for most Koreans. The 'anti-fan' issue is a big one in Korea. It usually happens to pop stars or actors. A small group of internet bozos start thinking they are Don Quixote, and go everywhere there is a presence for a given person in order to post negative comments. Relentlessly. A few actors have been driven to despair by this; I think there may even have been suicides (I'm sure IceCat could comment). Regardless, it's no joke when that happens. I sure hope it doesn't get to that point for Ha Na, but it's obvious that it's already shaken her.

Happy You must be glad....Annie thrashed GIMME....but I still think I'm up 3-1 on the year. Alison should postpone her schooling and concentrate on the tour to perform and if she performs well....sign up new sponsors....she's got to realize these are her 'money years'. A lot of these gals could use The Smiling Buddha for counsel and their agent.
