For the second tournament in a row In Gee started a tournament not in contention, but stayed close enough to keep it interesting.
Unfortunately for golfers, a player who finishes with one win and 29 MC's has a better year than another one who finishes 30 top ten in a row.
The best thing about In Gee's round is that there were no bogeys; she just needs to keep plugging and hope lightening strikes once in a while.

It's hard to say if they are local or S. Korean NYC fangirls....the one lady likely got the Lotte hat from NYC....or does Lotte sell hats?....or maybe she got it at the events that Lotte sponsors at the merchandise tent. We all know NYC has a lot of fans in different countries.....a lot of guys at WRX like NYC. BUT....I just don't get it....to me she's rather vanilla....maybe I'm tainted due to my FANdom for The Rocket...I think it's HYP's spunky personality that makes her so adorable.

The new 21 years old Lexi delivered a GOAT performance that's mouthwatering; she shot -8 while taking 29 putts. The ball striking is out of this world. Everybody will play for 2nd place every week if Lexi keeps it up.Sorry...it ain't gonna happen....someone who putts with their eyes closed lacks confidence....and that lack of confidence will catch up sooner or later....but yes....Lexi will win her fair share. Don't get me wrong...I'm a Lexi fanboy...but in my IMO...her short game at times can look a bit jerky.

Those were Hyo Joo Kim fan girls, not NYC.

Jordan Spieth putts with his eyes closed at times, and he's one of the top putters in the world.

Round 1 is done. The good: Q Baek! Where have you been? Welcome back! Shoots a 7 under par 65 despite missing a really short birdie putt on the last. Nice job! I don't know if she's ready to win yet, but if she can keep it up and seriously contend, that would be a great step forward from last year. The course is setting up well for Amy right now, and the positive memories are moving her forward. Impressive! In Gee Chun quietly shoots a 69. She did not have her best stuff, was at 1 under most of the day, but still produced a good opening round. That bodes well going forward. Sei Young Kim + Ha Na Jang were other potential Olympians who put themselves in the mix. Jenny Shin continues her good form as well. Minjee Lee is in incredible physical condition. She looks like she is one solid muscle. Not so good: Inbee wasn't at her best, but I didn't see much wrong with her game. She was hitting it well, her short game was great as usual, and she only missed one short putt she should have made. I think she could shake the rust off in the next day or two and make a move. So Yeon Ryu doesn't have much time to figure out her new swing - her Olympics is in jeopardy! I hope there wasn't any other reason she was distracted today...? Surprisingly weak round from Hyo Joo. Not too surprised that Bo Mee struggled, she hasn't played outside of Korea or Japan in a while. Go Sisters!!

I can't blame So Yeon's putting for her bad round. She only hit eleven greens. She has not shot under par for four rounds now. I really hope she turns it around. Because of her play over the years, she belongs on the Olympic Team.

By the look of In Gee, she may have taken these LPGA tournaments too seriously. We like to see more of the Lancaster In Gee, smiling even after a bogey.

The question today is whether Lexi, Q or Amy will run away; or they will leave the door open for other players.

Lexi is stalled, Q Baek has caught up at -8 after 4.
Golf Channel just showed In Gee's approach shot to within 10 ft. at #6, but she missed the putt.

Three of Korda's LPGA wins are from outside of the US; and she is at it again in Thailand; -4 for the day and -6 overall after 8.

How tall is Dumbo really? It says 5'9" somewhere but she might have grown since then. No highlights of her round in the LPGA reel. Must not have hit the ball very well . Nah, more likely it's the giant US domestic beer cabal conspiracy to keep Hite and Jinro off the TV.
