I'm apparently rolling with the mysterious "Phatlum Phatlum" this week.

Looks like Ueda pulled out before the event started. I think that's what 欠場者 means on the pairing sheet: www.lpga.or.jp/tour/pairing/2014/5026/R1They were able to go out in threesomes, so an alternate replaced her.

FIRST ROUND
WELCOME. Balabill is participating for the first time. He wrote in his entry:"This is my first time on this contest, I just hope I don’t embarrass myself , and if I should somehow come up the winner, I promise you it wasn’t intentional." The good and bad news Balabill. First the bad news: It is not easy to win a contest, will probably take you a few attempts. The good news: It is very hard to get a wooden spoon as we seem to have a few specialists in that regard (LOL). Yet, as per First Round results, you have a good chance of joining that very select group. Anyway, we all hope you enjoy the contest and keep participating.
ALTERNATES. Mamoko Ueda WD (replaced by Mamiko Higa), she had six selections. In addition a contestant had Se Yeon Ryu (?). So 7 alternates moved into the 12th position including what centurion calls: "the mysterious Phatlum Phatlum"

Thanks, Elf, for scoring this tournament and all of the tournaments this season. Great job and hope you can do it again next year. I can't believe I (barely) made another top ten. Bo-Mee Lee shot five-under today but moved only from T17 to T13. grrrrrrr
