A couple of recent news flashes from the LPGA:
1.) The 2017 Canadian Women's Open will return to the Ottawa Hunt and Golf Club (it last hosted the CWO in 2008). The 2016 CWO was already scheduled for Priddis Greens near Calgary (it last hosted the CWO in 2009).
2.) The North Texas Shootout was renewed for three years starting in 2016...will return to Las Colinas CC.

1) I'm not surprised the CWO is returning to Ottawa. Montreal supposedly had dismal galleries in 2011....so why bother with the French.....lol. The Manulife is preventing the CWO from being hosted in the Toronto area on a more frequent basis.
IMO....the CWO should only be hosted in Van City, Edmonton, Calgary & Ottawa....I guess the Entitled Canadian Princess will be happy in 2017....Smith Falls is near Ottawa.
2) I'm surprised the NTS go renewed.
I think they should try to get events near Denver and ChiTown and the Kia should get into the LA area....or at least relocate the ANA to LA...with no/minimal attendance in Palm Springs...the ANA is a joke....especially considering it's a major...or better yet...relocate it to Japan.

They're making a big thing about the fact that 2017 will be the 150th anniversary of Confederation, so why not have the National Championship in the Nation's Capital. If only they would think of doing that with the men's Open but sadly the PGA Tour apparently has a veto on where that can be held. That means having it somewhere in the Golden Horseshoe, usually Glen Abbey, with the occasional foray to Montréal or Vancouver. The last time it was contested anywhere other than those areas was in Windsor in 1976 and on only four occasions in the entire history of the championship has it ever been held outside of Ontario, Québec or British Columbia: 1952 and 1961 in Winnipeg, 1958 in Edmonton and 1939 in Saint John. Ottawa's lone turn as host was back in 1932.

Wouldn't it be Golf Canada responsibility where the RBC Cdn Open is hosted? A lot of courses don't want to host an event and with technology.....a lot of many of Canada's private courses are now too short to hold a nat'l championship and many of these clubs don't have the space to host a men's event's infrastructure.
But yes....it's a shame that the Cdn Open isn't held more frequently and in unique locations more often.
BUT...the Cdn Open is a tier 3 event nowadays......if not for the RBC pros....the field looks like a Web.com event.
