Guys. Don't hate me... ....I actually wouldn't mind seeing Karine Icher win this thing. Yes, generally, I would like to see a Korean win the event in Korea, but Icher has been knocking on the door way too many times. Just once I'd like to see her hoist a trophy. No hate...actually I feel sorry for you. Huh...WTF......if you're going to root for a Euro...why not chose a Euro hottie like Belen Mozo to win her 1st event or Azahara, Recari or Sandra LEGS Gal. I've generally appreciate you posts...but Icher?.....lol. Mainly because I'm not a sexist and find a way to root for the ladies for reasons other than physical appearance.

Hey 3 Putt,
I'm really tired of seeing all of your racist, rude, and demeaning comments about players other than your favorites. Although I am not a registered board member I consider Centurion an asset to this board and I appreciate his contributions and thoughtful comments. You, on the other hand, add nothing to the board with your venomous babble and demeaning insults. So grow up, or better yet, just go away.

Happy That shot by Chun wasn't even close...from maybe 75 yards....she fanned her shot 5-7 yards short.....look at how far away her point of entry drop was. She likely thought she needed to spin an approach high and just didn't stay in the shot with enough speed. I was rooting for Chun to win the playoff too. Good thing Bam Bam missed her putt or you'd be toting a box of Kleenex today....lol. The Seahawks don't look great early on in St. Louis either. Hmmmm...Percy Harvin traded to the Jets....supposedly a locker room parasite and they need to make room in the salary cap for Russell Wilson's 2015 contract. What's the Flying Dumbo Club? Didn't read my primer, huh? In Gee Chun's nickname is Dumbo (the Primer says why). Her fan club all wear hats with 'Flying Dumbo' embroidered on it for some reason. At any given KLPGA tournament, expect to see a few dozen of the roughly 700 fan club members following her around cheering her on. I bet they had a great time this week (well, until that approach shot in the playoff!). Personally, I think it's awesome how many of the KLPGA golfers have an ardent fan base that shows up at tournaments to root them on. Even second tier golfers like Ran Hong have big fan groups who follow them (I've seen pix of fans carrying signs or wearing hats for lesser known folks like Ji Hee Kim and Seung Ji Han as well). I wonder if there are ever any scuffles between the fan groups? Probably not. As for Chun's approach, well, let's say I rewound it and watched it a few times... My opinion is that it was not a good shot, but the main problem was not that it was short, it was that it was about four feet too far right. As a result it hit a down slope and rocketed into the water. Had she been just a little left, IMO it would have bounced forward and probably ended up on the green, giving her at least a putt for a birdie. Ah well, still a great week for her!

So no one has answered my question. Based on the KLPGA's requirement for a pro to stay for 2 years...can Baek leave the tour in 2015? Or if she does a HJK.....how many events must a pro play to keep their KLPGA membership? The only place I've ever heard about this two year limit is Golf Channel broadcasts. I presume they are correct, but I've never seen confirmation anywhere in the Korean press. If there is such a limit, hopefully there is an escape clause in case of winning an LPGA event. If not that would truly be a gyp for Baek.

Mike Whan is staying in S. Korea till Monday. Likely to announce that S. Korea will host the 2018 Int'l Crown and to name a S. Korean company as a sponsor of the event.

Yes...and I see your frequent and intriguing contributions to this site...lmao. If you don't like my posts.....put me on ignore or don't read them. I'm confident, Anthony knows I was only trying to tease/provoke him. Yes....there is often sarcasm to my posts...but often.....some implicit/underlying truth to them. If you don't think that appearance is a strong draw to women's golf...you're kidding yourself. Do you think Creamer, Gulbis make millions per year in endorsements because of their golf game alone.....and I wonder why Belen Mozo...who has very few top 10's..... garners so much attention from the LPGA and Golf Channel. My comments about racism stems around Merica's luv for their own and their xenophobia. I'm maybe the least racist on this site...lol....I like golfers from many countries. If you want to discuss racism....isn't this site kinda racist.....it based on a singular country's players and many members here will only cheer and comment on players only from S. Korea. Again....thanks for all your posts on this site to develop thought provoking discussions.

Happy Yes...I have read some of the info and bio info from the old site....but it was some time ago....and you did an outstanding job gathering all that info.
OK....now I remember something about Dumbo....by why Dumbo?
There's so much we don't understand about the KLPGA because many of us have not been able to attend KLPGA events....if we did attend....we'd be able to witness these fans clubs and learn more conversing with these fans.
I know the JLPGA tour is extremely popular...but do they have these fan clubs too?
One thing I will say about Chun's shot....after Bam Bam dropped one close....Chun could have played it safe and aim left of the pin....but she didn't....she fired at the pin to try to win the event, rather than hope and pray to sink a 12-15 ft putt from left of the hole....plain and simple she didn't execute....golf is a cruel game. As Nicklaus says.....we play in frustration 90% of the time....it's the 10& that keeps us coming back. If there's someone we should feel sorry for.....it's Bam Bam....losing another playoff to a Korean within months.
Sandra Gal also fanned a 97 yd wedge 15 yards short on a previous hole and bogeyed...it happens.

But that was not your argument to me. Whether or not appearance is a determining factor over who gets exemptions, endorsements, TV time, etc. should not determine whether or not I should root for particular competitors based on those same features. Twice you have commented on a player I was rooting for with snide comments about their appearance - first it was Eun-Hee Ji and then it was Karine Icher. Yes, I know the Golf Channel gives attention to the more attractive players. They have a segment called "Women Crush Wednesday" where they post pictures of women, whether they be golfers or wives/girlfriends of golfers, usually scantily clad. I personally think it is one of the dumbest, most sexist things I have seen in a golf site that it purposely there to try and bring in a couple extra clicks from middle age men. Understand, I am not bashing the ladies for capitalizing on that. If I was in their position, I would take a couple snapshots in my swimsuit if people were going to pay for it. It doesn't mean I have to like the fact that it is a driving force in the way money is moved. I'm here for the golf. Period. I couldn't give two snaps about a golfer's appearance.

I've been a fan of Seoul Sister golf for a dozen years and it still amazes me how good the Korean golfers are. Any other country and the native players collect at the bottom of the leaderboard. The worst the KLPGA players did this year was T42! Great stuff from Baek. Well worth staying up for last night.

If there are official fan clubs for K-pop acts and there is organized cheering at Korean baseball games then why shouldn't there be official fan groups for KLPGA golfers? It just seems logical.

Congrats to Kyu Jung for the win! The KLPGA ladies sure did represent this week. Also, I agree that Se Ri needs to shut it down for the year. So sad, she just has rotten luck. Apparently not only did she forget that she had an extra club in her bag after practicing with it on the range, she also hurt her back...though I'm not sure if this is what has been bothering her the past couple of months. News reports are saying that on her second shot on #11 she hit a stone in the ground (which was hidden, so she couldn't see it at first) and obviously it didn't sit right with her lower back. Methinks it's probably related to the lower back stuff she had a couple of years ago . I'm just praying she rests, gets back 100% healthy and then really makes this last push for a good final two years of her career since she said she wants to play in the Olympics. Interestingly, there were a lot of Korean articles talking about how Kyu Jung and Se Ri. Apparently, one of Kyu Jung's wishes was to play once with Se Ri during an LPGA event and she was able to do that on Friday when she was paired with our girl. It was an extra special birthday gift for the young winner and she said afterwards she thought about Se Ri and all the nice things/advice she gave during their round together. P.S. SYSR, I'll register soon for the site.

I noticed that she especially mentioned Baek in an interview she gave several weeks ago as a major talent whose career she was interested in, and at the Se Ri Invitational Baek looked thrilled to meet and hang out with Se Ri. I would love to see Se Ri mentor Baek in the same way she did with Ryu a couple of years ago. Especially now that Kyu Jung has some big decisions to make.
