Well, wait a minute. When golfers didn't come out against Trump for his "Mexicans are rapist" comments because golfers aren't supposed to be politicians, then why do the Korean gals have to speak out on the politics of their own country? And, if we're doing this, why don't we have Aniriban Lahiri speak out against the horrible treatment of women in India, or have Shanshan Feng come out against the human rights violations of China?
We have no idea what any of these ladies have said in their home country, or what they have advocated for. What this petition seems to want them to do, though, it to publicly condem their country in front of an American audience, and they are not required to do that for anyone.

That's why I made the comment that I really can't believe Whan would request the S. Koreans to take a stance on the issue....in the article...it seems as if Whan wrote to the S. Koreans for their communication and support from their countrymen/women.

Yeah, no, there is no way Whan wrote this. That would be a PR disaster if a commissioner of any league asked its players to comment on anything legal/political.

mr3putt, I think you misinterpreted the situation. This organization sent a letter/petition to Whan asking for his Korean players to get behind their cause. It also asks for a reply from Whan. Where is his reply? Maybe he won't send one. Or maybe he'll just post the petition on the LPGA HQ's bulletin board, just in case any of these players happen to be at the office (I'm sure they visit it often ). The LPGA should stay out of it.

OK...fair enough...it just seemed like a 'signature' from Whan at the end of the article. My dad use to own a Chinese retaurant in the late 60's/early 70's before it went bankrupt....do you know how many times guys would ask me if he was serving cat...my reply: "No, today's special are Knuckle Sandwiches"...how many do you want" Talk about Koreans and dogs. This is funny.....everyone thinks that Larry's Korean bookie likes eating dog meat. IMO....Curb your Enthusiasm is one of the funniest sitcoms along with Seinfeld. www.youtube.com/watch?v=WR6d67O6478

In a few decades or less the whole issue may be moot as Korean's appetite for dog meat decreases in tandem with their increase in affluence and dog breeders who cater to restaurants rather than pet owners see diminishing returns.www.bbc.com/news/magazine-34247807Kevin

So what would happen if we decided chickens were household pets....would we defer to tofu and bacon for breakfast? Supposedly the conditions within commercial hen houses are horrid.
