Yup, now I've seen it twice. Freeze the video at 5:54...Mi Hyang was only the 6th-best among the 10 Symetra players who were getting LPGA cards in 2013...incredible...Esther Choe was #1 and she was a 12-for12 trunk slammer in 2013. Mi Hyang is the real deal, Thidapa S. has had a decent stay on the LPGA so far, and Victor Elizabeth is holding on by her lovely fingernails (and Volviks for all three!), but the rest were washouts to one degree or another. You can find a lot more MHL stuff querying her name in Korean characters: 이미향

Yes...MHL is one of the few successful Symetra grads.
Phil There a guy on WRX that looped for MHL at the Lotte. He's a local and has looped for other LPGA pros, PGA and Champion Tour pros too.
He said MHL's English is good, but she can be really hard on herself when things don't go well and as evident wears her emotions on her sleeves unlike many Korean robots.
He said MHL's dad can get in the way at times and she then loses focus.....do you agree?

Mr. Lee is no B.J. Wie...by that, I mean he doesn't walk around with an encyclopedia of crap in his back pocket, or dump a bag of training junk onto the practice green and driving range. But, he is always observing. I checked my report on this year's Shop-Rite pro-am and I omitted this small incident: Near the end of the day, Mi Hyang tees off at the short par-4 8th hole. I'm pretty sure she hit driver because she had maybe a 30 or 40-yard pitch shot to an elevated green. Maybe it was less than that...can't remember. Well, she must have chunked it...did not reach the green, I don't know what happened. After the ams putt out and go to #9, Daddy goes up on the green and has a discussion about that pitch shot (he mimics a swing motion) with Ivan the caddie. I don't get it, Ivan didn't hit that lousy ball! Otherwise, he didn't get involved in the pro-am.
I already wrote about Mi Hyang's white-knuckle Friday round at the KPMG and the subsequent vigorous, three-way debriefing between Daddy, MHL, and Ivan. As for the USWO, I don't know what happened after Round One, if anything. It's hard to see behind-the-scenes stuff when the USGA erects the Berlin Wall around the clubhouse.
From my own interactions with her last year and this year, she has everything Mike Whan would want to see on his tour...and more.

Just because some of them don't whine and act up every time they have the slightest setback doesn't mean they don't take it hard when things go wrong. I'm not sure if IK Kim has gotten over that Nabisco miss to this day, no matter what she says.

I just don't understand all these parents that are baby sitting their kids(?). They are over 18 years old for crying out loud. I hated when Wie's parent controlled every facet of her life. Look where that got her; in the dumps. There is an entertainment show called 'Take care of Dad (아빠를 부탁해)' that will feature Seri Pak as one of four father and daughter relationship beginning from this coming Sunday. I'm curious as to how were they during Seri's early tourney years.
Among the top graduates of Symetra who didn't pan out were Kim Song Hee and Vicky Hurst. I thought KSH would take LPGA by storm since she was so dominant in the Duramed Tour. Nowadays, it seems most Koreans just jump directly to LPGA rather than grind out in the developmental tour.

The Americans are thankful that the Korean parents meddle in their kid's lives. Otherwise, white people would never win again.

Here in Van City I have seen so many Korean parents walking the courses just to watch their kids play, Korean moms sitting on the side of the putting green watching their daughter practice for 3 hours and I even saw a Korean mom (who was not playing...just riding in a cart) teeing up her son's golf ball.....lol. I guess they have not learned from the white folks who drop their kids off and pick them up 7 hours later. They must believe the BJ Wie School of Total Control is the only way to guarantee a $10M+ endorsement from The Dark Side. I'm Asian and have played golf for 47 years and my mom has never seen me hit a golf ball....I guess the Chinese just don't get it.
