philknj Do you have any idea whether Rio Takeda will play 2024 LPGA Q-Series? The other question, will Rio join LPGA in 2025 if she wins 2024 Toto Japan Classic?
From an article on Sunday, per Google mush:
Reo Takeda, who was crowned the number one female golfer in Japan, may challenge the US tour from next season. Regarding her entry into the final qualifying tournament in December (Q Series, December 5-9, Magnolia Grove GC, Alabama), which closes at 5:00 PM Eastern Time on Tuesday, October 8, she said, "I think I'll probably think about it until the very last minute."
The article also says that winning two majors this year has earned her a five-year seed on the JLPGA ... and if the Google mush is right, she has up to ten years to invoke that privilege. Let's says she plays the LPGA in 2025 and 2026, stinks it up badly, and goes home in 2027 ... she still has a five-year ticket going forward, not three.
