KB Star 2nd Round Highlights

Hee Jeong Lim got to two under for the round with three birdies one bogey.
But she made bogeys on sixteen and seventeen to miss the cut by one again.

Min Ji Park also had a late bogey on seventeen to miss by one.
Min Byeol rebounded with minus three for the round, which was expected of her.

It was an interesting round. For most of the day the leaders were either tied at 6 under or there was one player at 7 under. At first it was Se Lin Hyun who led, but after she fell back, rookie Hyun Jo Yoo took the lead before also falling back eventually.

Ina, meanwhile, was stuck at 3 under. She missed a short birdie try on 14 and talked for a few moments with her caddie about it, because she probably should have made that one. On the par 5 15th, she actually had a longer birdie try, but made that one. That seemed to flip the switch, and she made a short birdie try on 17 and a really short one on 18 to move into a tie for the lead.

Hyun Kyung Park was also tied at 6 under but hit a terrible drive on 18 and wound up with a 7. But she's still just two back, and all the other three-time winners are also near the top of the leaderboard.

Min Byeol Kim got to 4 under for the day, which would have tied the low round, but ended up with a 69, still pretty good. Hopefully she has a run in her tomorrow.

After missing seven straight cuts, Sae Ro Mi Kim has made three straight. Today she shot a 68, tied for the day's best, to move up 52 spots into a tie for 23rd at even par. She sure seems to have found something that works lately!

Yu Jin hit one approach after another to within ten feet or closer. I'm actually amazed she only shot a 64, she looked on course for an even lower score. As it was, she had the lowest score today by three shots.

Ina was great on the front nine, but really struggled on the back, even losing a ball on the final hole and having to go back to the tee. She still saved bogey there thankfully and despite her struggles managed a 70, not terrible.

Can the tour's breakout rookie star Hyun Jo Yoo close the deal and make her first win a Major? Will Yu Jin possibly be able to follow up what she did today? Or will Ina or So Hyun Bae grab her first Major? One more round!
