Great start for Ina Yoon: 8 under par 64, including four straight birdies at one point. She is currently tied for the lead with Min Kyung Choi.

Great first rounds by bombers Bang and Yoon and Rookie Yoo Hyun Jo. This is the best round we've seen from Hee Jeong Lim in a long time. Kyo Rim Seo, an amateur star who has not received as much attention as Soomin Oh, outplayed her today. Hyun Kyung is in good position after round 1. The two LPGA visitors had so-so days.

Good round four birdies one bogey by Hee Jeong Lim.
She was on the opposite side of the Broadcast.
They did show her on eighteen and she made a nice birdie.

I thought at the start of the day that the key for Ina Yoon to stay in this tournament was to shoot an OK round. I figured she would struggle a lot more after shooting a great round yesterday. But as long as she shot, say, a 71 or 70, she could stay in this thing.
But she shot a 74, the only score over par in the entire top 40 and the worst score anyone who made the cut shot. Sigh. So she's probably out of it this week, but hopefully she can right the ship on the weekend and put up a decent showing...
It was pretty brutal to watch; no birdies, two bogies, and a whole lot of poor shots. Meanwhile, her playing partners Ye Sung Jun and Ye Rim Choi kept making long bombs, to add insult to injury. I mean like 50+ footers. There was one hole where Jun made one that long, then Ina hit a slightly shorter putt, leaving it one roll from dropping. Even when she did well, it wasn't enough.
A week Soo Min Oh will want to forget as well. Nowhere close to making the cut, and even worse today than yesterday. The other amateur, Kyo Rim Seo, did make the cut, but she shot the other +2 round today, tying Ina for worst.

When Ina struggles, it seems to be her course management that suffers. One example will suffice. On one back nine par 5, she pulverized her drive. Jun's second shot was about 240 meters to the green so she laid up. Choi had ~224m and went for it but came up short.
Ina had *178* meters to the flag. Her drive was in the neighborhood of 310 yards. She took an iron and... came up 20 meters short of the green in some rough. She basically ended up with the same situation as Choi. She did not make birdie. If she is going to go for the green in two, why not take an extra club to make sure you don't short side yourself (it was a front flag position)? She did the same thing on the next hole as well and made bogey there.
She can learn this. But for now she needs to work on it for sure.

Good tee to green by Hee Jeong Lim, only missed two fairways and two greens that they showed.
Her putting was off on the back nine, missed two short par putts on thirteen and sixteen.
Three makable birdie putts fourteen, fifteen and eighteen.
Still has a chance for a top five.
Great to see Ga Young Lee atop the Leaderboard.
Along with the old gang, Su Ji Kim, Da Yeon Lee, Ye Rim Choi, Jung Min Hong,
Min Kyeong Choi and a Cameo appearance by Chae Yoon Park.
Too bad Min Ji Park wasn't up there as well.
It's nice to know that no one will come into the final round eight or nine under.
Go three under par and win the Tournament
