This one runs February 1 thru 4 for a field of 90. ROK and Japan are sending all their top players, but defending champ Eila Galitsky might still be the player to beat as they'll be in her backyard at Siam CC.

One interesting name in the field is Seojin Park. You might recall that this 15-year-old contended at last year's BMW Championship. She played with Hyo Joo Kim in round 2 and even took a photo with her while she was simultaneously kicking her butt. She wound up tied for 13th. Soomin Oh was also there and finished t-64th.

Solid start for the Sisters. In the morning, Minsol Kim and Hyo Song Lee both shot 70s and are three back, while Seo Jin Park, who had the t-13th finish at the BMW last year, shot a 3 under 69 and is two back, tied for 10th. In the afternoon, Soomin Oh played with Galitzky but couldn't buy a putt and shot a 3 over par 75, tied for 66th. Shi Hyun Kim shot a 71 and is tied for 26th. Still plenty of time, let's see what Minsol and Hyo Song do on day two. Hwaiting!

Somebody woke up all the Koreans ... Round Two is not finished, but they are back in the ballgame. I'm guessing it it top-50 plus ties that make the cut, which is +2.
Meanwhile, Galitsky fouled out with a 75, dropping her to -2.
Preliminary co-leader is Hinano Muguruma (68-66, -10).

Hyo Song Lee finally started to get some attention as she rocketed up the leaderboard and they took a look at her stats, noting her 8 shot drubbing of the field at last year's Korean amateur. Apparently she also finished t-3rd at this event in 2022 (at age 13!); she had barely made the cut, then shot a huge weekend (I think they said 66-67) to move into the top three. A Korean has yet to win here. Perhaps that will change this year? Anyways, Lee shot 66 with 8 birdies and a double. Min Sol was solid but unspectacular. Other than one par 3 she nearly aced she was not hitting it very close all day but was rarely in danger either. She's still in a good position to make a move. Hyojin Yang's 65 was joint best of the week so far. Soomin Oh is worst Korean at t-30, and even she shot a 68 today. As noted, Galitzky really struggled and has her work cut out for her. They kept focusing on the Indian Prashanth, who played with Kim. She hits it a long way but is a real hothead, hitting her club against the ground several times when she missed stuff and shoving it angrily into her bag at one point. Meanwhile, Min Sol couldn't be more chill. BTW, they also had a talking head interview where they asked Min Sol about her experience last year; her favorite memory was a monkey that went through one player's bag. She gave her answers in English! A bit halting, but she gave it a try, which was cool to see. She looks so imposing on course, but in the interview was really every inch a giggly teenager. Hwaiting!
