STOP THE PRESSES!!! I made a big boo-boo. There is more than one Hsin Yu Lu in the world (Taiwanese equivalent of Smith, I guess). It was NOT Teresa Lu who passed the qualifier in Soboba Springs ... it was Cynthia Lu (ex-Oregon Duck on the Epson Tour).

In Atlanta, Yubol has a 3-shot lead early in her 2nd round. Frida Kinhult is a WD ... makes no sense ... this is a weak field and she is #105 on Rolex.
*******
In AZ, Su Oh is -3 thru 11 holes, just 2 shots off the lead (3 spots available). Alana Uriell opened with a 67 ... Baba-chan is +3 thru 17 ... Henseleit is a WD, but she is #63 on Rolex.

At least Papp and Talley made it in! Why hasn't she made a verbal commit to USC yet? 😂 Like Hyosong, her game is good enough to turn pro now (at 15!).

They're taking four (plus two alts.) in NJ today ... course is "only" 6340 yards and the LPGAers are annihilating it ... ten of them broke 70 in round one.

Whoops, we got an LPGAer who doesn't understand this s***:
Pro Dana Fall, for one, took aim at Davidson in a response to an X post by the Independent Council on Women’s Sports.
“I’m not sure what the U.S. WOMENS Open is anymore because I don’t understand what a woman (sic) is anymore,” Fall wrote.
Poor Dana made the mistake of remaining a woman and getting married to a man ... honestly though, I saw her at Mountain Ridge in 2021 and she didn't have the horsepower to survive in the major leagues.
The bigger victim in the FLA qualifier is tour winner Jasmine S. (still a woman married to a man ), who got jobbed out of the 1st Alternate position by a Don Drysdale lookalike. A 1st alternate is valuable ... a 2nd alternate is usually worthless.
*******
This is brouhaha is strictly within the USGA jurisdiction. However, the LPGA has the same rules to permit access by Davidson. The LPGA is trying to have it both ways ... they keep the rainbow people off their backs, but feel safe in the knowledge that golf's inherent (extreme) difficulty will keep its competition farce-proof. Now, I'm not so sure about that second point.
Btw, Rory filed for divorce today ... fortunately, there is too much money on the PGA Tour for him to become a switch-hitter.

I'll add the second alternate later when I learn who it is (not important anyway ) .... aside from a 62 in her PM round, MJ Uribe made news in the LET article:
“It’s going to be unbelievable because my last tournament on American soil is going to be the U.S. Open – it’s my favourite tournament. It’s the icing on the cake, this year keeps getting better and better. It’s a course that I really like, I played it in 2015 so I’m really looking forward to it.”
This is NOT a retirement announcement ... maybe she'll play the LET only going forward? She started a family not long ago, so she might be bowing out pretty soon. I remember seeing her at the Seaview waaaaay back ... she was not scrawny and had a really athletic move through the ball ... I'm surprised she didn't win at least once on the LPGA tour (her two pro wins were Mickey Mouse events). The little-known highlight of her career was when she said "it's 30 seconds" at least four times to Weiwei Waitwait Zhang following their first round at the 2022 Cognizant.
