Here are some of the greatest KLPGA seasons of the past ten years. All of these ladies won at least four events in Korea during a season (though some of those events were unofficial; see below!). You can see that In Gee Chun is starting to creep into this list and could really establish an amazing mark if she keeps it up. Hope I didn't forget anyone!
1. Jiyai Shin, 2007: 9 KLPGA wins
About half the events she played were wins. All on the KLPGA tour. She also doubled the record for most money earned in a season.
2. Jiyai Shin, 2008: 7 KLPGA wins, 3 LPGA wins, 1 JLPGA wins
Shin's greatest season, and possibly the greatest season a Korean has ever had. She didn't win quite as often as in 2007 on the KLPGA, but swept the three Majors (the fourth was added the following year) and established the all time highest money list total, which stood until Hyo Joo came along 6 years later. She also won three LPGA events, including the British, and a non-Major JLPGA tournament as well.
3. Hee Kyung Seo, 2008: 6 KLPGA wins
Poor Hee Kyung! She won 6 times in 2008 and still got beaten by Shin for all the year ending awards.
4. Hyo Joo Kim, 2014: 5 KLPGA wins, 1 LPGA win
Last year Hyo Joo won three of the four Majors and five total events. She set the record for most money earned with over 1 billion won. She also collected the Evian Championship, her first ever Major played on the LPGA tour.
5. Hee Kyung Seo, 2009: 5 KLPGA wins
Seo's greatest season came in 2009, when she won 5 times and collected wins in 3 of the 4 Majors (there were now 4 Majors as of this season). She finished second in the other Major. She swept all the season awards, holding off new rival So Yeon Ryu.
6. In Gee Chun, 2015: 4 KLPGA wins, 1 LPGA win, 1 JLPGA win (and counting; season is about half over )
In Gee has four wins this season, including her second career Major. She also won a Major on the JLPGA and the LPGA, making her the only woman to win Majors on all three tours in the same season.
6. So Yeon Ryu, 2009: 4 KLPGA wins
Ryu's breakout season came in 2009. She didn't win any Majors (never won a KLPGA Major in fact) or season ending awards.
6. Q Baek, 2014: 3 KLPGA wins, 1 LPGA win
Baek won three events in her rookie season on the KLPGA, including a Major. She also won the Hana Bank, an LPGA event which sort of counts as a half KLPGA event.
6. Ha Neul Kim, 2011: 3 KLPGA wins, 1 unofficial win
Kim collected her first career Major at the Hite Cup (beating a teenager named In Gee Chun!). She had three wins total + an unofficial win at the year-ending Queen of Queens tournament.
