I still wonder what the setup is for Min Sol Kim; she is sponsored by Doosan Consul/We've, she appears in ads, but also is a 17-year-old amateur. What is the dividing line for amateurs who get sponsor deals before they cease to be ams?

SBS posts the occasional amateur event on YouTube. This one from last year features a number of interesting players. The winner was Min Sol Kim, who we will be seeing in the field this week (she's wearing mostly black). The other two Queen Sirikit team members also contended: Hyun Jo Yoo, who is wearing pink and a skirt; and Kyo Rim Seo, who has a tan top and knee high black pants. Also, Cherry Lim, who recently won on the Jump Tour, is featured; she is wearing baggy gray pants and has streaked blond hair.
Guaranteed that one or more of the young ladies is going to become a big deal in the next year or so.

They're still on Jeju Island this week, SW corner. They have a two-hour delay due to "strong wind" ... the broadcast start is delayed by two hours, will begin at 1 PM local time.

Apparently it got so bad that several unnamed players sat on one tee and refused to tee off until the officials suspended play. So the round will be chucked out and the event reduced to 54 holes.

Tough day for Hee Jeong Lim four bogeys no birdies. For whatever reason she doesn't look like the way she used to play. I hope it's just a matter of getting used to the clubs or just rusty. Anyway she needs to make more midrange birdie putts to make the cut. Ok, Min Sol Kim drove it by You Min Hwange the first three drives. However You Min Hwange drove it by her with a three wood, so hah  I stopped paying attention after the sixth hole. Min Byeol Kim had a decent round of minus two. But they can start putting You Min Hwange name on the Rookie of the Year Trophy |
