As of July 27, 2015...the Rolex rankings.
OK....let's here your predictions of who will be on the Olympic team.
I predict the above 4.....with a low probability that SYK might sneak in and bounce SYR out of the top 4 come 2016.

Assuming no injuries, I do expect Hyo Joo and Inbee to be on the team. If In Gee keeps playing remotely at the same level as she has been (a strong possibility), and comes over here to earn more ranking points, she seems a lock as well. So So Yeon would seem to be the most vulnerable, but I'll still assume she'll make it over the others.
Whew, what a tough squad to make!

I believe the Olympics are 72 holes stroke play which will assist the #1 ranked Koreans win...unless the Mericans do something crazy in a year to become #1 ranked.
Match play would have been another animal...as evidenced by the inaugural Int'l Crown....Spain winning.
Supposedly, there will by no events in August next year due to the Olympics....kind of silly, as the event will be played over 4 days.
I think the women are more interested in the Olympics....I think the guys don't care too much...hasn't Adan Scott already voiced that he's indifferent playing in the Olympics?
IMO....the Olympics are an exhibition event in golf and many other sports too....I also think the Solheim, Ryder Cup , President Cup, etc are exhibitions too...in golf...the only thing that kinda counts are MAJORS.
I also think the Olympics should be an amateur event...no pros allowed in any sport.

Well, two things happened Monday that were a surprise to very few. One was Olivia Chow announcing her bid to return to the Canadian parliament in something approximating her old constituency. The boundaries of the urban Toronto riding (as districts are known there) have been altered as part of the redistribution necessitated by the addition of thirty seats to the House of Commons, which is already crowded to begin with: it will get to the point where it will be like its counterpart in Westminster where there isn't room for every MP.
The second item will be of interest to Toronto as well and Canada's Olympic hopes in general as the USOC and Boston have mutually agreed to abandon their bid for the 2024 games. With the IOC deadline for bids coming up in mid September that doesn't leave much time for another US city to step up, and it appears that LA has the sole chance of saving the USOC's reputation. With the successful conclusion of the Pan Am Games Toronto should be in a strong position if they're interested.

I also think the Olympics should be an amateur event...no pros allowed in any sport. Then no one would care about most of these events. Besides, the Olympics are supposed to be the highest level of sporting event, and so the best athletes should be able to participate. Also, for those in a solo sport, their marketability has a very short window. By not allowing them to make money around the time of the Olympics, you're crippling their ability to make money. There is no professional tour for the likes of Gabby Douglas or Missy Franklin, so they need to make their hay when they can. Besides, amateur athletics is bullshit anyway, in my opinion. Now, as to your original question, I think Inbee and Hyo Joo are locks for the team. I fully expect So Yeon Ryu to make it, but she needs to win a couple of tournaments. Her overall skills makes her dangerous, but she needs to learn to close. The fourth spot will be highly competitive, and may rest on how In Gee performs on the LPGA Tour next season.

You certainly like to keep up with your current affairs....kudos. You seem to enjoy being knowledgeable on many topics. I believe hosting the Pan Ams games was a foundation to assist with an Olympic bid for Toronto. It was fun hosting the Olympics here in Vancouver...it was great to witness the city's enthusiasm....logistics and traffic were handled well. I was so busy at that time travelling away for business, but when I did go to the office...traffic was light. Unfortunately I didn't attend any events....even though my friend in Whistler invited me to watch some bobsledding events. I guess I was satisfied watching it on TV...and then weather was so nice I played golf on the weekends before I had to head out to travel to colder climates.

Definitely some valid points. I do enjoy watching some Am events.
