What a great round by In Gee. Only a couple of miscues. A bogey on no. three and bunkered on the par three, in which she almost pitched in for birdie. I guess we don't have to worry about her shoulder.
Hyo Joo stayed close by making a couple of long par putts.
Sung Hyun Park battled back from a triple bogey start.
I am also surprised that Yoon Kyung withdrew. Not a good day for her, but she did birdie the last hole.

Go In-gee, I am such a fan.
One thing i have noticed with the KLPGA players is that they are all walking billboards with some of the biggest corporations in Korea sponsoring them, How many times have you seen players on the LPGA with no apparel or cap sponsorship?

Round 3: In Gee Struggles but Claims the VictoryThe conditions were tougher on Sunday, and low scores were next to non-existent. In Gee Chun started the day with a two shot lead, with most of her top challengers four or more back. Could she claim her second career Major on this day? The two players she was paired with, Sung Hyun Park and Hye Youn Kim, both struggled immensely, shooting well over par and fading quickly from the competition. Hyo Joo Kim started the day four back, but shot an over par round to finish at 4 under, tied for 4th. In Gee Chun struggled most of the day, and was usually one or two over par in her round. Meanwhile, Yoon Ji Cho posted a 5 under par total, which turned out to be the best score anyone could muster as In Gee was coming in. With four holes to play, In Gee was at 8 under, so her fate was in her hands: play around par or even a little worse, and the title was hers. And despite making another bogey, she managed to get the job done! Her final total was a 73, with four bogies and three birdies. In Gee's unbelievable season has just gotten even better! With her win at the Hite, her sponsor's tournament, she now has become the only woman in history to win a Korean, Japanese and American tour Major in the same year. This is In Gee's fourth KLPGA win of the year and sixth overall win in 2015. Three of those six wins have been Majors. Congratulations to In Gee Chun on yet another fabulous result!! Scores: 1. In Gee Chun 73 -8 2. Gyeol Park (R) 72, Yoon Ji Cho 71 -5 4. Hyun Soo Kim 70, Hyo Joo Kim 73 -4 Notables: 6. Ji Young Park (R) 72, Min Young Lee 72, Song Yi Ahn 73 -3 10. Congrats Dumbo!!! I didn't realized IGC had Dumbo on her golf bag. I Google'd, but I'm unsuccessful trying to find a Flying Dumbo fan club site. I'm surprised the sponsors didn't challenge Dumbo to a beer boat race challenge at the awards ceremony. So will IGC displace HJK as #2 Korean by next year? Koreans are so funny. 1) What's up with all the fans....not only used by the players but the spectators including the men...WTF. 2) The boutonnieres worn by the committee....are they all attending a wedding or prom after the event. 3) I'm surprised the committee didn't throw rice on Dumbo after the paper streamers exploded at the awards ceremony. 4) The bouquet of flowers are so large.... one of the committee nearly poked a girl in the eye. 5) We played with a guy from S. Korea who is on vacation this past Thursday (my playing partner met him while playing at another course as a single)...this guy had a butterfly sticker on his driver...LMAO...we are playing with him again this Wednesday...I'm trying to find a Hello Kitty sticker for his 3W ...lol.

Congratulation to In Gee for another Major Tournament win. She has moved atop all the major categories.
Kudos to Ha Neul for a solid tournament. Maybe it will boost her confidence, to play like she is capable of.

more pics, leaderboard and video on my blog: In-Gee Chun Wins 2015 Hite Jinro Championship, Third Major Victory On Third Different Tour This YearIn-Gee Chun Normally, I take the weekend to post about the LPGA of Japan. But with all due respect to Sun Ju Ahn, who won on the JLPGA this week, I can’t ignore how historically great In-Gee Chun has been in 2015. The talented young South Korean has won her third major victory on her third different professional golf tour this year. In winning the 2015 Hite Jinro Championship, she adds an LPGA of Korea major victory to her LPGA Major victory at the US Women’s Open and LPGA of Japan major victory at the Salonpas Cup. Chun was already the first golfer I know of who had made her first victory in Korea, Japan and the United States all majors. Now she has won a major on three professional women’s tours in the same year. I don’t know how much press this will get with mainstream American sports outlets, but this is a very special thing that she has done and she deserves to be praised for doing it. In-Gee Chun’s 8-under, 3 shot triumph translates into her 8th career LPGA of Korea title, her 4th KLPGA victory of the year, her 2nd career KLPGA Major, 6th worldwide win and 3rd worldwide Major of the year. I know Japan was making a push to get her to play on their tour next year, but damn it I am going to be selfish. I want In-Gee in America on our tour for the next 10 to 15 years! 1 IN-GEE CHUN (-8)

It is a nice achievement but she has to win the Trump for the slam.

It is a nice achievement but she has to win the Trump for the slam. The Evian will achieve that as well: both it and the WBO are LET majors.

In case you missed it, I posted on the 'In Gee Chun returns to Korea' thread the news that In Gee has confirmed she will join the LPGA tour next year. Bad news for the JLPGA, but good news for us!

With this win In Gee Chun now as a world ranking of 9th and has moved into the last spot on the Korean Olympic golf team. It's really quite a battle (with to be fair a lot of time before the teams get decided). 1. Inbee Park 12.01 4. Hyo Joo Kim 6.44 5. So Yeon Ryu 5.88 9. In Gee Chun 5.60 --------- 10. Amy Yang 5.54 13. Sei Young Kim 5.20 15. Na Yeon Choi 4.65 18. Mirim Lee 4.40 21. Ha Na Jang 3.81 23. Bo Mee Lee 3.24 24. Jung Min Lee 3.24 25. Q Baek 3.23 I could see any one of those final 8 players on this list making a charge and getting onto the team. Notice that recent tour winner Chella Choi isn't even here. Deep squad!
