It's not just Salas . There were a lot of low rounds near the top of the leaderboard. Hey look, sometimes the Sisters take advantage on these kid of courses, too. Just not this week (at least so far!). Go Sisters!!! Happy So does this mean you won't be doing your usual 1/2 page post event recap.......some of the Mericans are lighting up the course at -7 or -6 today with holes still remaining....while world #1, Queen Bee, is now 14 strokes off the lead. I wonder if the Meijer tournament committee employed Jan Stephenson as a course set up consultant to help stop the Korean Reign of Terror....are the Asians killing the LPGA? So I assume you are not going to watch the 12pm PST delay coverage and go do something more enjoyable with you family and take in a Mariners vs. Blue Jays game at Safeco. I watched the highlights last night.....what a game....it was louder every time the Jays scored. I'm surprised there are so many Canucks...it cost $1.30 Canadian pesos to buy a greenback and the border wait was 2 hours yesterday morning. When the Jays were playing great in 1992 & 1993.....busloads of Canucks came down from Van City.

The problem with these kind of setups is that you can shoot a great round and not make up all that much ground. So, Inbee shot a 66, So Yeon a 65, and HYP a 65 as well, and they all lost ground to Salas, who shot a 64. Sour grapes. The reason why they didn't make up ground is Salas also blistered the course with a flawless bogey free round.....nice logic...lol. As I've said before....Happy, you are one of the funniest posters on this site.....you are starting to sound like sore loser and pouty face....Ms. Stacy Lewis...."That's the Spirit".....kudos. Not much of a setup when you have a one hundred sixteen yard par three, with no trouble. We play tougher courses than that for amateur tournaments. These are pro golfers. They should have to play a tougher setup, than a pitch and putt course. The only reason that the scores are not lower, is the long hitters are poor putters.

I was rooting for Ryu, but I can't complain too much. I like Thompson. She always struck me as very nice. I know some may have "Thompson fatigue", but I think she's the perfect spokesperson for the sport.
I have an article for VAVEL in the pipeline. Just waiting for it to be posted. Can't wait for next week for the Ricoh Trump British Open At Trump Turnberry Presented By Donald J. Trump In Association With The "Mexicans Are Losers" Foundation. I wonder if Trump will give out the winning player's personal phone number.

I think she is still too young to be a spokesperson. I don't think that she is ready for that kind of pressure. Just my opinion, I may be dead wrong.
Kudos to So Yeon for another top five, she seems ready to win again. Also to Hee Young for a good tournament.
Inbee seem to have trouble on the easier courses. She missed the cut on one, and shot an un Inbee like five over today.

Agree...the gals average approx 250 yards off the tee....so they can handle a course at 6500-6650 yards...unless it's really wet. They might post those types of yardages on the website....but they never set up play to those yardages. At 6500 - 6650 yds...it would be rare to see a par 3 under 150 yds....likely range from 160 - 215 yds.

AnthonyDon't you live in Pennsylvania?...therefore you have some drive-able access to some events to witness how nice Lexi is.....get Vavel to send you to some events per year. Who has "Thompson fatigue"?....it's pretty rare to find anyone say anything negative about Lexi. Yes, Merica dearly would like to see Lexi as their #1 LPGA pro vs. you know who. ...."That's the Spirit".

Trump better have some extra glue for his rug this week.....some pretty windy conditions in Scotland at times.

Nice win by Lexi..she was a driving machine this week....her wedge play and short game still has room for improvement on a week in and week out basis. Based on the timing of the delayed GC coverage...I thought there was going to be a playoff...with Lexi choking it up coming home.
Hmmmm...Korda's got to be worried with the play of Salas, Gerina and Lang...if only Alison had played better on the weekend....I would like to see Juli stir things up and pick 2 players that many would not consider leaving off the team.
Nice payday for HYP...but just as we get excited to see The Rocket surged to -14...she implodes with 3 straight bogey's....ugh.

Congrats to Lexi!
This was one of those events where the second I turned on the coverage and saw the scores, it just seemed really likely that Thompson was going to win. Salas got a bit lucky she didn't have a worse score thanks to an unlikely chip-in, and I didn't see Piller beating Thompson if it came down to the last few holes.
And as I said before, once Thompson had a three+ shot lead it was practically impossible for So Yeon to catch her no matter how well she played, so the main suspense was if she could shoot a good score anyway, which she did. So Yeon had another strong round today, a 66, to give herself another top five. I sure hope she has some great play in her next week, because I'm really jonesing for her to finally get her second career Major.
Inbee has been a bit off her seed the past few weeks. She was able to do well anyway on the somewhat tougher courses at the US Women's Open and even the Farr, but this week, not making putts really cost her. I think she can occasionally just lose interest when things aren't going her way, and it seemed like that was what happened here. Pity, because practicing her game would have been a good idea given that next week is the most important event of the year for her: the only one of the five Majors she has never won (she won Evian pre-Major). I think she'll be OK once she gets to Scotland, but she's going to need to be on her game if she's going to do better than top five.
Nice week for HYP, and Q came really close to her second top ten in as many weeks. Still, it's great to see her putting up some good results. Hopefully a great result is right around the corner.
Sisters Hwaiting!

Sisters Hwaiting! Happy: You should apply to GC to do some freelance reporting for them. Your writing style is very similar to the media reporters that GC employs....rather than focus their discussion/report on the winner....the majority of their dialogue is another player's activities. e.g.) When a Sista wins, the writer typically reports on the activities of another player....how Wie took Lola for a walk or how The Pink One colored her nails, etc. Happy...why no pics of the winner, Lexi?...you often post pictures of the winner's celebration...oh I forgot....Lexi doesn't have black hair.

I was fortunate to have been able to talk with Lexi after her victory. She had a plane to catch to Scotland and had to leave in 20 minutes and still gave me some time. She is definitely NOT a diva. Everyone knows Lexi is a super nice young lady who appreciates her fans.....Scott and Judy Thompson are also very approachable too. The LPGA primary diva's/Oscar winners & entitled ones are really a limited group....MW, The Pink One, Kerr, Lewis & Xtina.

You're kidding, right? But just in case you're not, let me reiterate the mission statement of this site. This site is called SeoulSisters. The whole reason I started it was because the Korean women golfers are given short shrift in the English language press. I like to write stuff about them so Western fans who can't read Korean can learn what I discover about them on Korean language sites. If you want to read about Lexi, there are many, many English language places you can go to do that. It's outside the scope of what I'm trying to do here. By all means, feel free to put her pix up here if you want, but I've got enough to do just keeping track of all the Korean stars in the golf world!

Happy You know I like 'jacking' you. You do an AMAZING job on this site...it's kind of unreal how much you dedicate to this site. I have learned so much about the KLPGA & JLPGA on this site....I just like golf...including women's golf of all shapes and forms....pro and Am. I just think it's ironic that you are kind of similar to the American biased fans....if the American gals aren't winning...US fans don't care. If Korean gals aren't contending you don't care...you've said it yourself. Yet, I believe you are not even a Korean, I believe you are American born. I realize that that everyone is unique and how they like to enjoy their entertainment. Golf is primarily an individual sport....so I myself like to root for individuals and not by nationality. Heck....some of the drama from Brooke recently has made her fanfare for me drop down and I never cared for Lori Kane, Mike Weir neither. Heck...I liked seeing Jason Day win this past weekend....even though David Hearn had a chance to break the Canuck 61 year old winless streak at the Cdn Open...sigh. I don't mind Shanshan.....but she's not in my fav portfolio....now if it was Lucy Lui swinging a stick...hell ya I'd be rooting for a fellow countrywoman. Being a member of this site and increasing my knowledge of Korean pro's and their culture really help to provide some great experiences/discussions with some Korean golf partners last year......sadly they moved back to S. Korea. All in all...yes Happy...you do an UNBELIEVABLE job here....it's really appreciated.....but I'll still continue to raze you. We really need to increase the traffic and discussions here as there's really only about 10-15 main regular discussion contributors....but we all know it's an uphill climb to increase the exposure of women's golf and that's a shame.
