Before the season, there will be a special unofficial three-day event featuring teams of KLPGA stars organized by their sponsors. It's called the KLPGA Club Competition. You may recall they did this last year as well. The first two rounds are alternate shot, while the third round is a scramble/best ball. Each round will feature two players from the team chosen to play that round.  Among the 12 clubs are NH Investment & Securities, which combined for eight wins last year, features Min Ji Park, Ga Young Lee and Yoon Ji Jung. Dongbu includes Su Ji Kim, Han Sol Ji, Su Yeon Jang and Ju Young Park; they won four events last year. The Korea Land Trust golf team has Ji Young Park, Ayean Cho, and Hyun Kyung Park. In all, 40 players will participate. Action starts March 17th. |

Waw! Hyun Kyung and Ji Young Park, and Ayean their caddie, have been giggling like school girls all day. No wonder: they started with 7 straight birdies and ended up with 14 total and a 58! They were literally jumping up and down for joy after Cutieful buried the final birdie.
It's looking like Team Lotte is taking this. They are 11 under themselves today with three holes to play. You Min Hwang is a superstar in the making.

Is Kim Si-won and Kim Min-sun5 the same person? - they look awfully alike and when I check this players records she seemed to have much success that i have never been aware of. a two tome former winner on this tour?

Some notes.
Dongbu Construction was great today. They made two eagles on the front nine, and Han Sol was on fire, setting them up for a great eagle chance on 13 as well, but they missed that. She was talking back to the galleries and wagging her finger like a boss. She's so cool.
You Min Hwang is a superstar in the making. Man, she carried her team today. Hits it far, too, despite her slight build. Hwang made a 40 foot eagle putt on 6 after Lee blew her try ten feet past. That was after Youmin's drive with a fw wood got as far down as it could without leaving the fairway. On the drivable par 4 hole, Lee blew her eagle try about forty feet past the hole (it kept rolling and rolling), then Hwang dinked it up within three feet so they could make the birdie. On 9, she hit it right and it bounced twice on the cart path and back into the fairway really close to the green. Even her mistakes didn't hurt her. So she already has a trophy, and the season hasn't even fully started yet.
Jae Hee Kim and Carrie Park were also kicking some butt. How Jae Hee hasn't won yet is beyond me, if she plays like that with any regularity.
