This is one of the events that has been stretched to four days starting this year (with a boosted purse, of course) ... field of 108, top-50 plus ties make the cut. Ayaka Furue is flying up for this one. Streaming sked (Japan time) -
■ TV Tokyo affiliated 6 stations net Saturday, March 11, 16:00-17:15 (recording) March 12 (Sun) 16:00-17:15 (recording)
■ BS TV Tokyo Saturday, March 11, 16:00-17:15 (recording) March 12 (Sun) 16:00-17:15 (recording)
I'm testing the BS Tokyo channel now and they're showing a K-Drama with Japanese subs ... I don't recognize anyone yet, but then I haven't watched one of these in at least a dozen years.

Nice round by Kotone Hori, just two out of the lead.
Yuri Kawamoto problems of not finishing rounds caused her another missed cut. She made bogey on eighteen to miss by one stroke, also made bogey on nine.

Tonight's broadcast should be excellent if the early scoreboard is an accurate indicator ... 14 players are at -8 thru -10, including Hori Two, Saku-chan and Furue. I'm not looking anymore so I don't get spoiled.
After bombing out last week, Au Reum Hwang is -8.
I know Rumi Yoshiba (-3) is a rod-and-reel maniac, but is that for real?

Two-for-two in cuts made by The Unknown Korean (-3).

The players I mentioned in my last post are in danger of being left in the dust (if they haven't been already).
POS PLAYER SCORE TODAY 1R 2R 3R 4R TOTAL 1 Hikaru Yoshimoto -16 -7 69 66 65 200 2 Shoko Sasaki -14 -5 66 69 67 202 3T Au-Reum Hwang -11 -6 69 70 66 205 3T Sakura Koiwai -11 -5 69 69 67 205 3T Kotone Hori -11 -4 69 68 68 205 3T Mao Nozawa -11 -4 70 67 68 205 7T Yuna Nishimura -10 -5 72 67 67 206 7T Shiho Kuwaki -10 -5 70 69 67 206 7T Miyu Sato -10 -5 69 70 67 206 7T Akie Iwai -10 -4 65 73 68 206
Hikaru Yoshimoto ... the logo fooled me, it's not CFG GOLF ... it is CPG Golf ...

... which has a booth at this weekend's annual Japan Golf Fair in Yokohama.
Hori Two ... she has Super Looper this week ... can't remember his name, but I think that was the guy with Satoshi Kodaira when he won at Hilton Head.
Kumiko Kaneda (-8) ... I assume it's temporary, but how many times do you see browned-out rough on a course with palm trees?

Kotona Izumida (-7) ... she reminds me of a player who retired about three years ago ... I forgot her name ...
... that sweater windshirt (has pockets) deserves another look ...
... if you have a small corporate logo pasted on here, it will be visually lost in this swamp.

Momoko Ueda (-6) ... you'll have to pry that Cally iron model out of her cold, dead hands.

Another really good round by Kotone Hori to tie for third. Looks like she has put that fluke missed cut behind her.

I had to look it up ... Kaori Ohe is the retired player who reminds me of Kotona Izumida ... Kotona is cuter, but can get three wins like Kaori? Probably not this week, although she is -3 on her first eight holes on Sunday, which moved her up to T-10. This is her second year on the JLPGA and will turn 24 in August ... she was kinda old to join a tour, where has she been?

I dozed off before it finished ... Hikaru Yoshimoto picked up her first win on Japan's big tour on the second playoff hole.
POS PLAYER SCORE 1R 2R 3R 4R TOTAL PRIZE
1 Hikaru Yoshimoto -19 69 66 65 69 269 ¥18,000,000 2 Shoko Sasaki -19 66 69 67 67 269 ¥8,800,000 3T Ayaka Furue -16 68 68 71 65 272 ¥6,500,000 3T Sakura Koiwai -16 69 69 67 67 272 ¥6,500,000 5 Kumiko Kaneda -15 69 70 69 65 273 ¥5,000,000 6T Fumika Kawagishi -14 68 70 70 66 274 ¥3,250,000 6T Minami Katsu -14 68 68 71 67 274 ¥3,250,000 6T Rio Takeda -14 68 69 70 67 274 ¥3,250,000 6T Mao Nozawa -14 70 67 68 69 274 ¥3,250,000 10T Miyuu Abe -13 71 69 69 66 275 ¥1,880,000 10T Akie Iwai -13 65 73 68 69 275 ¥1,880,000 10T Yuna Nishimura -13 72 67 67 69 275 ¥1,880,000
Shoko Zulu had big distance advantage with the driver over Yoshimoto, but her short iron/wedge approaches were not as good.
Hori Two (-12) ... I think that's commish Kobayashi in the background, who caught The Bug recently.
Serena Aoki (-11)

Sayaka Takahashi (-12)
Hana Lee (-6) remains Unknown ... didn't help shooting 74 on Sunday.

Kotone Hori just missed top ten by one shot because of thirty-four putts.
