From another extremely reliable source... NO 36 HOLE PLAYOFF. TOP 30 + TIES will make the cut.
The ANWA site confirms that it will be a cut of top-30 plus ties. With a new two-hour broadcast window for Round Two, they had to abolish the playoff to stay within it. The first playoff in 2019 was ludicrous ... 11 players fighting to get 10 spots ... Alessia Nobilio walking away in tears afterward. I looked her up on IG ... hasn't posted there since Aug. 2021 ... was #103 on WAGR at the end of 2022, so she probably won't make the field this year ... a redshirt UCLA soph who graduates in 2025.

The way they overmarket the sending-out-of-invites, I half expect Willy Wonka to greet them at the gates...

Monday Arrival Day Tuesday Practice Round at Champions Retreat. Wednesday Round 1 Thursday Round 2 (top 30 and ties move on) Friday all 72 players play Augusta National. Saturday Round 3
I think it was Jennie from Texas A&M said in an interview that Champions Retreat is harder than Augusta National. I don't know who told her that. I guess she was brainwashed too, cause she said ANWA was on her bucket list.
These young ladies, parents, coaches, and friends are ecstatic beyond belief to be at ANWA whether some golf fans like it or not.
With strength of field being used to award WAGR points, this event has a higher WAGR rating than the US Women's Am.

Baba-chan will have Daisuke Shindo on her bag, who looped for Hideki at several PGA Tour events, including the 2018 Masters.

hideki matsuyama won the masters in 2021 and had a different caddy at that time..
that caddy became somewhat a celebrity when he bowed to the course after the win...

NEWS FLASH - Per Google mush above, 2021 champ Tsubasa Kajitani says she will start her first year at the U. of Oregon in the fall. I wonder if coach Derek Radley is aware of this ... I couldn't find her name in the women's golf section of the Ducks' website. She largely dropped out of sight last year ... said "I had a lot of trouble with my family" and has been attending a language school in Irvine, CA since last October as prep for attending a U.S. college.

I hope Kajitani (+12, 84, DFL) signed her deal with Oregon and is not just verbally committing.

I'm giving in to the haters for at least one day: this thing is OVER and The Zhangster is the winner of the 4th Champions' Retreat Women's Amateur ... she'll perform her victory lap on Saturday. I thought a big brute like Lindblad had a real shot this week, but she blew up like a Tesla battery fire.

at this level even with the large lead there is a small chance that zhang will be caught on saturday... I don't buy that ... but, now I'm only 95% sure after this factoid from Nichols:
Zhang’s final round sat Augusta National have been less than desirable the past three rounds: 75-75-74.
She arrived this week with a perfectly plausible plan to go with a club caddie on Saturday, even had The Kup Show's 2019 looper in practice today (below). However, she changed her mind and is going with daddy again in round three. Still a high probability that Saturday's broadcast will be a complete bore.

Final round tees off in less than an hour. They will be using the 10th tee to hurry before the weather. There could be a weather delay. All are expecting the weather won't derail the whole round and they will finish before dark.
Rose Zhang shot 13-under on a tough course with her dad on the bag. She essentially had no qualified help. She will do the same in the final round. She's had 7 trips around A N to go on. This could be the biggest melt down or a coronation. I hope she wins.
She is very stoic but I can imagine some emotions if she wins this. She wants this so bad. It's her favorite event and she wants to set records. She knows golf history.

Saturday's stream started on the ANWA website ... Jenny Bae belted one of the longer drives at #1 (per Mike Tirico) ... has a big high reverse-C finish ... she should do well at 1974 Q-School. Baba-chan is the only player playing under-par in the early going. The Zhangster just lost a stroke on the first hole ... these media comparisons to Lorena Ochoa at U. of AZ are daft, when has Rose ever exhibited the same power?
Jiyoo Lim is -1 overall after three holes.
