Starts Thursday for a field of 96 ... top-50 plus ties make the cut. Baba-chan and Baby Shibuno are two of nine amateurs in the field. This is the last chance to make the top-50 in points to earn a full ride in 2023 ... notable rankings:
Yui 52
Yuka Yasuda 54 The Chie Pet 56 Rumi Yoshiba 58 Saki Nagamine 62
The Unknown Korean 64

Articles on Yui say she went to her coach to fix her putting after her last two trunk slams ... at a minimum, she needs to finish alone in 24th place to hit the top-50 points list. It's her only local event of the season as she is staying at her parents' place 30 minutes away ... all the excuses are taken care of, now let's do this!
Kiriko Shibuno will make her first appearance on Japan's big tour this week.

I was under the impression that the JLPGA used the Money List for keeping their card. Where Yui is in forty fourth place and fifty two on Mercedes List.

If you can't hit the top-50 in points, at least reaching the 51 thru 55 spots will get you good priority up to the first re-ranking of 2023. I think these two will be happy to settle for that:
The Chie Pet (#56)
Turns 35 next week ... hurt her back a month ago, hurt her neck two weeks ago, has foot pain and (per Google mush) "wounds all over the body".
Rumi Yoshiba (#58)
She was off during the Toto Japan event, so she decided to change her swing ... NOW??!! She had been hitting an overly straight ball, which logically leads to a two-way miss (unless you are perfect and who is?). She worked on going back to the fade she was hitting 2-3 years ago, but progress has been slow ... she rates her current proficiency at 2 out of 10. I guess that would explain her dismal 75-76 at Ito En Ladies last week.

I forgot the rogue video look-up on YT -
第41回大王製紙エリエールレディスオープン
There are numerous Golf TV examples posted which are between 50 and 57 minutes in length ... but for how long? BTW, I don't know the language, but the guy who does the play-by-play on the Golf TV broadcasts has a noticeable lisp ... how did he get that job?
Golf TV/JLPGA highlight reel, starting with Minami Katsu's hole out eagle at the par-4 15th:
POS PLAYER SCORE TODAY 1R 2R 3R 4R TOTAL 1 Akie Iwai -7 -7 64 64 2T Mi-Jeong Jeon -6 -6 65 65 2T Hikari Tanabe -6 -6 65 65 2T Mao Nozawa -6 -6 65 65 5T Mizuki Ooide -5 -5 66 66 5T Fumika Kawagishi -5 -5 66 66 5T Lala Anai -5 -5 66 66 5T Ai Suzuki -5 -5 66 66 9T Hana Lee -4 -4 67 67 9T Mami Fukuda -4 -4 67 67 9T Kotone Hori -4 -4 67 67 9T Saiki Fujita -4 -4 67 67 9T Rio Takeda -4 -4 67 67
Desperate times require desperate measures ... Hikari Tanabe (#97 in points) stunk it up last week as a hostess pro (82-81) ... switched to a fade this week and BINGO!
Erika Hara (-2)
Kana Nagai (-3)
Eri Okayama (-3) aced #12
Team Hankook, Seonwoo Bae (+1) and Mi Jeong Jeon
If Daio Paper makes tissues, they'll be needed this week.

A real birdie fest, Kotone Hori, seven birdies and three bogeys Yui Kawamoto had her share of birdies with five but had two bogeys and double bogey
Did Shiho Oyama retire, injured or what

Great round by Kotone Hori six birdies one bogey.
Looks like Yui Kawamoto got the tough part done three birdies two bogeys. Not a very good round, but I at minus two tied for thirty fifth place should make the cut. However, there are still a lot of golfers that hasn't finished

The cut was -1 and 52 players made it. Yesterday's rogue YT videos are still up and several more from Round Two were posted.

Another lump for The Chie Pet (MC), who missed the weekend by one shot.

Did Shiho Oyama retire, injured or what
Funny you should ask ... there was an article on her posted Nov. 14 ... I pushed it through Google mush, but still couldn't get the drift of what was going on, so I ignored it. But, I just looked up a different source re Shiho and found this other article, which seems to translate better:
Per the article, the tour is being deliberately secretive private regarding her problem(s) ... fair enough ... but let's face it, she's 45 and has been falling apart physically for the last few years ... but, there is no hint of retirement in this article.

My NTV streams were working, but they didn't have the golf ... maybe one of them will have it for Sunday. Meanwhile, there are numerous rogue YT videos posted from Round Three.
POS PLAYER SCORE TODAY 1R 2R 3R 4R TOTAL 1 Ai Suzuki -18 -7 66 65 64 195 2 Saiki Fujita -17 -7 67 65 64 196 3T Akie Iwai -11 -2 64 69 69 202 3T Hana Lee -11 -1 67 65 70 202 5T Fumika Kawagishi -10 -5 66 71 66 203 5T Erika Kikuchi -10 -2 70 64 69 203 5T Ritsuko Ryu -10 -1 69 64 70 203 8 Mao Nozawa -9 -2 65 70 69 204 9T Momoko Ueda -8 -4 69 69 67 205 9T Minami Katsu -8 -3 68 69 68 205 9T Kokona Sakurai -8 -2 70 66 69 205
Saiki Fujita ... will it be 2011 again on Sunday?
A big push by Fumika Kawagishi who is 50th in points and doesn't want to slip lower.
The Unknown Korean doing the NASA hop.
Yui (+3) completely gagged, but I doubt she'll drop out of the 51-55 points bracket.
Rumi Yoshiba (-3) playing okay, but okay may not be good enough.
With five wins on the scrub tour in 2022, I assume Kokona Sakurai is guaranteed a full membership on the big tour in 2023.
Erika Hara (-5) ... there is also a points race regarding who gets to play in next week's Ricoh tour championship and she is on the edge (or ledge) for getting one of the open spots.

Kotone Hori plus four and Yui Kawamoto plus five had a rough day. The high round did not hurt Kotone but Yui needed a good round. Maybe Yui can rebound with a great round today. They had the same number of putts thirty-three.

Low am Baba-chan (-8)
Clutch week for The Unknown Korean who moved from #64 into the important 51-55 points bracket.
Kana Nagai (-8)
Yui (-1) maintained her #52 points ranking.
Haruka Kawasaki
A bogey-free 68 got Erika Hara (-8) into next week's Ricoh tour championship.

Really good final round for Yui Kawamoto five birdies one bogey. It kept her at top fifty-two after the terrible third round.
Kotone had a bad weekend seven over after nine under first two rounds.
