I looked up Iksan CC on Naver and discovered that Hong Kong Rabbit learned to play the game here, so I would expect a bigger fanboy army than usual. This venue is on the west coast, about half-way down.

The leader Hee Ji Kim (+16) had hole-out eagles from 93 and 150 yards  ... I don't think she'll do that again.
I think the smart money is on home cooking and Hong Kong (+15) who owns this place.

I really didn't watch the stream not my type of Tournament.
He Jeong Lim had a good back nine of +8 after only +2 on the front nine.
That's good for her because just making birdies isn't how she plays.
Yewon Lee had a good back nine also +8 after a +4 front nine.

I will agree stroke play is surely the "correct" way to play golf, but I am not going to be angry or militant against Match Play or this weeks event.

This is getting quite interesting ... but I have to get up in the morning, so it's bye-bye in a few minutes. 
Eee Ga Young in first place ... her first win here would be wildly popular ... more so than a first win by Yeah, Lee Won because GY has been at it longer and has more fanboys. Hong Kong is one point off the lead, but hasn't played that well ... several squirrely iron shots ... she'd be dead if she couldn't chip. You could drop this golf course into Japan and no one there would know the difference ... double greens and trees in the fairways.
I tried to be positive earlier ... and The Hulk tried to be positive earlier ... but it's no use, she sank in the ocean like an anvil.   |

Tomorrow Yewon will have to deal with the Hyun-Kyung Mob.
Last Sunday, maybe two people were cheering for Yewon but I think they were actually in the fan club or one of the other ladies in her group.
The winner last year had 51 points.

The edited replay just ended ... immediately afterward, SBS Golf is running some kind of "news" report regarding JTBC Golf (they are probably still spewing about NOT having the KLPGA contract). I don't know what they're saying, but I'll bet it's a really a long editorial bashing JTBC Golf ... let's hope SBS Golf squashes them like a bug or else you'll never see a freebie KLPGA stream again. |
